Secret Santas Revealed!!
Permalink Closed

I just wanted to report that I got my secret santa gift today and I'm super excited.  It was sorta funny because all of my bf's holiday shopping arrived at the apartment today so he actually opened it and was like I didn't buy this for you.  So I looked and there is the card.

My Secret Santa was Mikacat!!

She sent me:

Holiday Rescue which I don't think she knew has been on my wish list for years!!

So thank you SS and now I better get on the ball for mine!

Aurora- I am so glad you liked it! I am writing from the Hong Kong airport right now. We are messing around until we go on a tour today. It is Sunday about 11 am. I wanted to get it to you before I left for China.

On that note.....I got mine from NC Shopper the day we left. I saw a Sephora box on my doorstop as I pulled up to the house and was so worried I had mailed Aurora's gift to myself ( a bit scatter brained these days!)

NC Shopper sent me the coolest necklace with a silhouette of birds and trees in an acrylic square on a cool silver china made by a local Raleigh, NC artist where I went to school. I love it. We had to pack super light for china and I could only take two necklaces and wear one and NC Shopper's made the cut. I wish I had taken a photo before I left but it was so terribly hectic. All the packaging was pink and brown too. AND then for CAMILLE, the cutest little weiner type dog made of socks. It is precious! NC Shopper made it for Camille herself. My husband and I both love it. You should sell them. It is so fun and unique. I love the whole present and it was such an unexpected surprise on a terribly stressful day!
Thank you....... Thank you!!

My Secret Santa was Joceybaby23!!  She sent me the sweetest gift that pretty much took into account almost everything I posted in the SS thread, plus some things she didn't even know about me.  She sent me this amazing 70% cocoa organic fair trade chocolate bar, an adorable "gingerbread woman" cookie cutter, a gorgeous little wooden box that's dark blue with some really cool ethnic designs on top and the cutest little key, and a beautiful lavendar cashmere pashmina.  The box that the pashmina came in was also beautiful, and I may keep it to store things in .  I don't think she even knew that I adore little cultural knick knacks like that box and have them all over my room, that I fell in love with pashminas when I lived in Europe a couple years ago, and that lavendar is one of my best colors.  Joceybaby, thank you!!  Random question: did the box and chocolate come from Ten Thousand Villages?  I have one of those stores near my house, and they looked like things that might have come from there...

My stuff came Thurdsday in the mail and put me to shame because I hadn't even shopped for my own SS yet.  So I bought her gift today and will be mailing it out Monday.

My Secret Santa is Fairywings...and she went above and beyond!!

When I opened the package the first thing I noticed was the glitter (or fairydust maybe?) it was great!! And everything was scented! What is that perfume, fairywings? It smells great, i think Kari may actually wear this perfume because for some reason it reminded me of her, so you get double points for sending something that smells so great and reminds me of one of my favorite people who i don't get to see very much anymore!

Ok, so on to the actual gift...I am absolutely obsessed with Florida and the beach, which worked out so well because Fairywings is from Florida! She tracked down an artist and found the most beautiful photograph, had it matted and signed by the artist! PLUS there were seashells taped to the wrapping paper!!

Fairywings, thank you so much! I love the seashells and the print, I've already displayed the shells in a vase on my desk and can't wait to get a frame for the photo

Here's the photograph, it's called "The Secret Beach"

Jahni- I'm so glad that you liked the gift !! I always send glitter (ahem, fairydust) in my packages...I'm glad you noticed! As for the scent, I'm pretty sure it is the actual glitter that smelled so yummy. It's just a loose glitter from N.Y.C. Cosmetics. As soon as I saw the photo I knew it was the right one for you. And I loved the name too. It's by a local photographer who is extremely talented and really captures the essence of my local area. Sooo, I'm so glad that you liked it and have a very Happy Holiday season!!

My SS was... Jahni!!! She sent me a very thoughtful note and gift. She got me the Nigella Lawson measuring cups and spoons.

Nigella Lawson Living Kitchen Measuring Cups - Set of 4 in Blue                             Nigella Lawson Living Kitchen Measuring Spoons - Set of 6

Aren't they awesome? And the measuring cups are a great Tiffany blue. I really, really like them, especially since I'm cooking for 10 at my party this weekend! I can't wait to use them.

Thanks so much, Jahni!

my ss was HeatherLynn! i got home at about 9 last night, after a long horrible day at work and then a long night at a dinner event, and i was exhausted and crabby. then my bf was like "oh, you got a package today" and my mood changed instantly. funny how that happens, isn't it?

anyway, here's my haul:

a grey & green velvet makeup/toiletry bag that is huge and i love (i kept petting it last night, the bf was a little weirded out i think), and has a giant crystal on the zipper pull that could easily double as a weapon if necessary. i opened that to find two more beautifully wrapped presents - the beauty book pictured (can't wait to read some of that - my skin looks like hell lately and i'm hoping i can find the solution in there!), and a package of three stila lip shines. i love stila glosses and i'd never tried these - of course i opened and tried them all immediately. and i'm using one of them today.

thank you HeatherLynn! i love everything and i really appreciate it.

my SS was Twinkle!!!

backstory:  I am an outside rep for my company that is based 5 hours away from me.  so I am constantly getting sent random items in the mail.  when i got home yesterday after my trip, there was a really flat package from FedEx on my dining room table.  and my first thought was "what the "h" did work send me now?"

and then i opened it and was pleasantly surprised to find my SS gift!!!  yay!!!

Twinkle sent me:

i love it Twinkle!  I often see these at a boutique in my town and think about getting one for myself but it seemed more like something someone should get me as a gift!  and you did!!!

i haven't "wished" yet and put it on... i am trying to think of a really worthy wish for it!

Thank you so much!

Aww, I'm glad you like the gifts. Funny story...for some reason when I would check the SS survey, I never saw where you replied, and I was freaking out because I didn't want to get you something you may not like. I finally went and checked again after I saw you filled out the second survey and I just searched your name, and there it was. I can't believe I kept missing it! I think I'm going have to get myself the wasabi green tea collection from WS, it just smells so nice!

I am such a slacker.. I got my SS gift last week and have had zero time to post!

My SS was Small Fry!

She got me some beautiful jewelry.. a chunky silver bracelet and some gorgeous chandelier earrings with turquise stones in them.

I am so happy. Jewelry is something I always want but have a hard time spending money on.

Thanks sweetie!

So glad you liked everything!

Actually, I got the chocolate at Target.. and the box came from a friend who had a Polish exchange student stay with his family a few years ago. The exchange student brought tons of those boxes over with her. Apparently, children in Polish orphanages make them to sell to tourists.
I bought like 30 of them and have been handing them out as gifts for a while now. Every one is different and all my friends rave about them.

Enjoy! :)

My Secret Santa is Atlgirl!  The package arrived today -- I had no idea the postal service delivered on Sundays, but the guy said they do in December.

Atlgirl very thoughtfully sent me some cooking gifts, noticing in the poll that I mentioned I love to cook.  And I love what she sent me!  A hot chocolate kit, three spice rubs (for steak, chicken, and veggies, respectively), an hors d'oeuvres little black book, and three kinds of dip mix.  I would post pictures but I haven't found my camera cable for the computer yet (I just moved to a new apartment last weekend).  I will add them later though. :)  I'm about to go pick up some steaks so I can try one of these spice rubs tonight for dinner.

Atlgirl, thank you so much!!!
