Credit cards with rewards?
Permalink Closed

This is a spin-off of ShopChicago33's General Interest Poll on credit card debt.

Does anyone have a credit card with a good rewards program? Right now I use a Target card, which offers 10% off at Target for every $1,000 I spend. I think I can do better than that.

Thanks!

I have a world points card. my husband has a northwest world perks card because he travels internationally a lot and Northwest is our hub airline (I think he has around 600,000 miles right now - we can fly anywhere in the world Northwest, Continental, KLM, or any other Northwest affiliate flies to) only downfall for the world perks card is that there's an annual fee of like $20. we also have a costco american express that gives us 1% back.

I have an Amex Green Rewards card that I really like.  I have it linked to my Corporate Card so I get points pretty fast.  I like how there are a lot of options as far as rewards go.  The only con I have is that there is an annual fee and I know you shouldn't have a card with a fee but I am already at 1 free plane ticket and should have another after my busy season in Jan & Feb where I will be charging ~$500 a week if not more so 2 plane tickets are worth more than the annual fee.

I have a discover card with the cash back option or cashing out for gift cards.  Well the cash back is pretty low so it takes me a while to add up to much and then the gift card options are pretty slim.  Discover is also not taken everywhere which is the downside but there is no annual fee.

I have a Chase Flexible Rewards card that I like because you can use the points on anything from gift cards to plane tickets.  The BF likes his Amex blue for that reason as well.

I saw the TV promo for this one and I thought it looked really cool. Do I have to have checking/savings with Chase in order to get this card?

Not at all.  My Bf has one and he doesn't bank there.  They are always running promos too like 12 months no interest or whatever.

i have an amex blue. i think it's something like 1 point per dollar for some purchases, double for others. (and for certain vendors a lot more) i like it and there is no annual fee. you can get rewards certificates for various stores including saks, bloomingsdales, williams-sonoma, etc.
