I want to download some music for a party we're having this weekend. What are your recommendations for good party music? think 35-40 people. I'd like any and all suggestions though I'm not really a fan of tecno music anything else goes. I want a fun eclectic mix!

Oh yes, bring on the Crue!  We heard some good tunes @ Debonair on Sat. Farrah - what else??

Electric Avenue by Eddie Grant
Anything by Michael Jackson - he's got some good dance tunes
Poison
Def Leppard
Bon Jovi

Madonna's always good...

In the Motley Crue vein, Bon Jovi generally gets people shuffling their feet/singing along

The Donnas if your crowd is into that

Jet

Kaiser Chiefs

The Killers

The Raveonettes are always fun and eclectic

Tegan and Sara (can you tell I'm working my way through the cds that are on my work computer?)

The Ramones

The Who

I'll second The Killers, and add Scissor Sisters (their self-titled first album).

Goldfrapp.
Fischerspooner.
Justin Timberlake.
The Killers.
The Faint.
Massive Attack.
She Wants Revenge.

If I had time to list specific songs, I would. But, that would take at least an hour. hehe.

The new Scissor Sisters album is also pretty good. Some more artist ideas: Phoenix, Gorillaz, The Fray, Prince, Shakira, Nelly Furtado, Groove Armada, Beck's new CD, Jurassic 5, Mary J. Blige, Annie, Brazilian Girls, Jamie Lidell.  Also, Yerba Buena is a cool Latin fusion band that blends Latin, rock, rap, salsa into this very fun party sound (they had songs on the Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights soundtrack).

hee hee

no, actually, I love techno. GOOD techno, like trip hop and electronica with vocals. Not some amateurish DJ at a club, which is what I think most of you associate techno with.

Also, Detroit, along with being known for garage rock, is the techno capitol of the world. there is actually a techno fest every year that attracts people from all over the world.

so it was more retaliation 'cause you bashed my techno
