d'oh! if only shopbop would've approved ST earlier!
as an aside, how are affiliates chosen? or do affiliates approach you?

I know, I cringed a little last night. Actually, I think shopbop launched their affiliate program on the 28th or whatever day it was after their most recent promotion ended. Companies will sometimes do stuff like that for measurement of traffic and redeemed codes.
Businesses with an internet presence, mostly etailers, will work with an affiliate advertising service/middleman. The etailers that wish to work with the middlemen we are established with are the ones we can apply to. Sometimes, the approval is instanstaneous, and sometimes the etailer's affiliate program manager will visit the site to determine if our site and its potential reader is consistent with their brand and the audience they want to attract.
