Interesting Objects used in lieu of common desk accessories

I hate my desk, its all mismatched and does not reflect me.  Since spend most of my life here during the week, I want it to more pro, stylish and inspired.  I think I'd feel saner sitting here for at least 8 hrs every day if it were more "me".

So...Im thinking of replacing some of my desk accessories with Jadeite Vintage Glassware. And for my files, I'm thinking of finishing off with brown leatherbound accessories.

So for my paperclips and spare change, I'm thinking sugar & creamer:

and for my pens and pencils - S&P shakers w/o the lids: (the mouths are 2.5" diameter)

I was also considering a jar or sm jadeite vase for the pens, but I havent found anything in the price range I wouldnt be afraid to leave unattended at my desk.

So...Any suggestions or ideas?  I'm still looking ideas for:

  •  "post-it" tray, maybe a jadeite square plate or cigar tray?
  • receipts holder (they're currently sandwiched btwn my computer and mug.
  • thing to keep my lotion/vitamins/anti-bacteria gel together on my desk.

Am I missing anything? What do y'all use?

See Jane Work has the CUTEST office supplies ever-- I would definitely check the website (www.seejanework.com) for items to make your office cute. I seem incapable of spending money on anything but clothes, or I would have bought stuff for my new office from there.

You could also do milk glass instead of jadeite - not as colorful, but it's texturally interesting, less expensive, and very easy to find in all sorts of sizes and shapes.

White Milk Glass Bowl - Hobnail Design with Fluted Edge

I like the idea of leather bound accessories too!
