my microderm abrasion experience
Permalink Closed

I just got microderm abrasion for the first time.  I went to our local technical college to the esthetics (sp?) department.  A student (of course) did my microderm and she was wonderful.  She also did extraction of blackheads.  My nose and forehead look so much better.  I thought there would never come a day when I could look at my nose and see clear pores.  She did cleansing first and then the microderm abrasion.  Then she did a mask and then the extraction.  Then she used something to bring my skins pH back to the right level.  Then she did a neck massage.  It was only $40.  I am psyched!!!

That's pretty cheap for all that.

I used to get microderm in OK for $35 a treatment, but it's hard to find around Harrisburg, PA.  I just found a place where it's $50 a treatment, and I think I'm going next week.  I really do think it helps to clear up the skin, and it makes it feel so soft afterwards.

Um....ok, so I pay $125 plus tip and plus extra if i get a mask at the same time....yeah, so I need to go book a flight to OK to get it done there...probably cheaper to fly there and have it done! i'm feeling robbed and my credit card hurts...

Yeah, not bad, huh?  Of course, if you live in OK, your salary's probably half what it is in DC.

Thanks for the update!  I am definitely going to get some.  I have so much dry skin lately!

glad to hear you liked it.  i have some expression lines that i am trying to diminish and i am trying to decide if i should go the route of microderm or glycolic peels.  if neither of those work- i'm going for the botox baby!!

Just a tip for girls looking for cheaper alternatives to all sorts of beauty treatments...check out Aveda Institutes. I go to Jean Madeline here in Philadelphia but there are a bunch of them around the country. I get my hair cut and eyebrows done by the students there for 28 dollars total and have loved it every time I go. And the 28 dollars includes the fancy mint-something or other conditioner and head massage for an extra 4 dollars.
