carpet cleaning question

I want to have our carpets cleaned.  I scheduled an appointment with Chemdry...but then started wondering...


Is the steam cleaning better or is chemdry ok? 


Do any of you have any experiences with either?

I don't know if you've had your appointment already, but ........


IMO Chemdry is overpriced for what they do.  They went on and on to me about how they have a special truck mounted system, lalala, and it was totally worth the price because it was so much better than anyone else.  Right.  They wanted $350 for 1000 sq feet!


We ended up going with Stanley Steamer - they only wanted $150, we were able to schedule an after hours appt, they worked quickly, and our carpets look great!  I'd recommend them, and we'll definitely be using them in the future.

Wow, i can't believe they were going to charge that much.  They gave me an estimate of $99 dollars for what I told them that I wanted.  I made the appointment, I will let you know what I think.


I was a little apprehensive of using the steam cleaners because of the moisture and how long it takes to dry. 


I hope it all works out...they are coming tomorrow...I'll post an update.
