Chicago girls: new Mango store?
Permalink Closed

This one's for the Chicago ladies -- have any of you stopped by the new Mango in Water Tower Place?  It just opened on Saturday, so I went in to check it out.  They had some really cute stuff!  Great coats, scarves/hats, bags, and a decent denim selection.  With the exception of the coats, everything was priced under $100.  There were quite a few basic tops (turtlenecks, basic shells for under suits) for $25.  For those of you who have been to the Mangos in Europe, I'd say this is slightly more American-ized/conservative -- I remember Mangos in Spain being more funky, and this one reminds me more of a cross between Limited, Express and Zara.  Still fun and trendy, but lots of workish pieces, too.

I'm curious to hear if anyone else has gone yet!

I was super excited when I saw that they were opening here, but I was kind of dissapointed by the clothing when I popped in there the other day. Some of it was cute, but it just seemed kind of blah to me?

Maybe because I'm comparing it to the European Mango which I always found to have cool, funky stuff as Jacks435 mentioned...

But the prices seem pretty good for basics.

nothing to do with the store, but whenever I hear "mango," I think of Chris Kattan's snl character:

I totally agree. A mango opened up somewhat near me in santa monica and it was NOTHING like the euro mango stores I went in to. :(
