I didn't like that behavior on Oprah and I really don't like it on Tyra. I am not impressed.

oh my god. I didn't even get that what she gave them was vaseline - I thought maybe it was some fancy face cream or something? Apparently I didn't pay enough attention to what she was saying because I was too busy recovering from the shock of the whole thing.

Is she trying to be Oprah, or parody Oprah?

Her success with ANTM and her talk show is making her nuts. Anyways, she was just making fun of Oprah. I'm sure the audiences excitement over Vaseline was set up.

i'm ashamed to admit that i actually watched the tyra show the day this happened (what can I say, I work from home now), so here is some context -

she was doing a whole show about makeup and skin care - the segments included "how to pop a zit" which was disgusting (they showed a real super close-up of the guy (yes, guy) who she was doing it to - eeww) and a segment about Tyra's personal skin-care regimen. so everyone in the audience got to take off their makeup and wash their faces using tyra's products and step by step instructions. she was pretty psycho during the whole episode, but at the end before the last commercial she said that everyone in the audience had a secret surprise which was her absolute no-fail solution for perfect skin. then they go to commercial and when they come back she tells them to open the boxes -- the poor people were probably all expecting la mer or something -- and then everyone starts screaming over the vasoline, which is the segment of that video. i guess they were worth $100 because they had swarovski crystals on them, which was so ridiculous. she really is an absolute nut-job.

anyway, that was the show and the reason she was in her pjs with no makeup. but that doesn't explain why she went apeshit on national tv. ;)
