We have a digicam that I use to shoot my jewelry, and it's great - but a little bulky for general use. DH told me he'd like one for Christmas / b-day (his b-day is 12/28) and I'd love to get him something fun. Would love to hear any recs on small, easily portable cameras so he can take pics as he travels, etc. The only one I can think of right now is the Elph.
Also, am hoping for relatively inexpensive recommendations as he also wants an iPod...so I'm trying to keep the camera cost down.
TIA!

I LOVE the Canon Powershot series. I have the SD450 (I think there's a newer one though) and it is amazing. It is tiny, has a large screen, is user friendly, and best of all, has some awesome features. My favorite setting is the tan setting. The flash on cameras usually washes me out but my camera has a setting that makes you look tan. Genius! There's also a setting where you can colorize your pictures (ex. only red (or whatever other color) shows up and the rest of the picture is black and white). It uses a rechargable battery thing so you don't have to buy batteries for it. I've had no problems with it so far and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I Cannon digicams. I have an older PowerShot A520, and it's awesome. I got it two years ago and have had no problems with it. It's fairly bulky compared to most cameras that are around today, though. My friend has a Cannon PowerShot SD600, and I think it's amazing. It takes beautiful pictures and is very user-friendly. On Amazon, 51 out of its 56 reviews are at least 4 stars.
And I have to go to Costco soon anyway. I'll definitely peruse the camera section. :)
I was at the Perimeter Costco over the weekend and I saw that they were selling a Canon Powershot (can't remember the model # or any of the stats) and an accompanying photo printer for $279.99...it looked really nice though.
