I am really digging this show too! I'm so glad to see Milo (Peter) back on TV. I don't know if you girls watch Gilmore Girls, but he played Jess, Rory's boyfriend and I always thought he was cute
me too me too!!! i am soooooo hooked. i love the little chinese guy. he is so funny.
one question about last night, when peter hit jason and jason asked him "you get it right?" and peter told him "yah, i get it." did anyone else get it? i think i did, but i am not sure.
edited: just wanted to add, after seeing the picture of mohinder's dad, i don't think he is dead. the actor they showed is kind of a big actor just to be used for a picture. so that makes me think that syler or whoever has him locked up somewhere and wanted mohinder to think he was dead to get him to come to new york for some reason. and the girl he has been hanging out with gives me the creeps. i think she is not someone he should trust.
I am completely hooked too. Chinese guy is my fav too - he is so freaking funny.
So what is the Vegas chick's power? I'm so intrigued by her but I can't figure out what she can do - well, other than the ability to black out, kill & chop up some people & not get caught so far.....

Okay, I watched this show last week and was horrified at how violent it was. Between the dead guy in the trunk and all the people with their skulls sawed open and the lady that was pinned against the staircase, I had to turn it off.
Is it usually that violent or was that a one time thing? The show seems interesting, but if it's that graphic week after week, then I'm not going to be able to watch it.
I TOTALLY agree, I think that neighbor girl tipped the police off and that's why the stuff was gone. It just all seems too weird.
Who is the guy in the bar when the police officer was listening to people's thoughts. Did you get that he couldn't hear his thoughts, too creepy!!! Do you think he's Sylar or do you think the cheerleader's Dad is?
I loved the scene with the Japanese boy and when he froze time to save the little school girl. Super cool Matrix-y special effects.

i'm surprised that the violence was approved for a prime-time TV show. with the self-healing cheerleader (cut open at the morgue?), i'm sure there's more gore to be seen, but i don't think it's too bad.

totally!! she's just bad news. for someone so neurotic, you'd think the guy would be more suspicious of her.
i like it a lot. and hiro, the japanese guy, is my fave so far too. he's so funny.
i was thinking that sylar was the cheerleader's dad, but now i'm not so sure.
my question: when the read-your-thoughts cop and the blond female cop were chasing sylar, whose hand grabbed the female cop when she was trying to shoot at him? was it sylar's go-go-gadget arm or something? i mean, obviously he has powers, since he didn't die when he was shot, but i thought that arm out of nowhere was weird.
lismissdiva - not sure who the black guy in the bar was, but i have a feeling he's some type of bad guy - no thoughts, and the cop collapsed right afterward. very weird.
nc shopper - i don't think it's overly violent. i'm kind of a wimp when it comes to gore, and i've been able to watch it so far.
laken - i wonder about the vegas chick too. obviously her power has something to do with mirrors/glass. it's almost like she has a split personality or something.

ok, nikki, the vegas blondey, her reflection is a seperate person. when she blacked out, her reflection killed the guys. and the second time she blacked out, her reflection cleaned it all up and got her the car and such.
as for the black guy in the bar, i thought for half a second that he might be her husband, but now i am not so sure. i was wondering how her reflection got the car in the first place, and after hearing about her husband and the money, i think it wasn't just his crew in the grave, it was him too and her reflection killed him and burried him and has the money stashed somewhere.
i didn't see the arm when the blonde cop was trying to shoot the guy in the police station. i thought he used his mind to move her hand. and i think the guy in the police station is syler. but he is not the cheerleaders dad or the black guy from the bar. i think he is a super power guy who is killing the other super power people for some other reason. and the cheerleaders dad and the black guy are looking for him.
ok, one thing that has been bothering me, is when the girl that peter likes was at the junkie/comic book/painter guy's apartment, and there was the painting of peter flying. she checked out all of his paintings, why didn't she notice that painting of peter and he happened to be wearing the same clothes and peter never met the junkie guy before. wouldn't that set something off for her. or is she just that dumb and unattentive?

i took it to mean that she isn't taking his 'crazytalk' seriously. or maybe he's not a very good painter

What is bothering me about that theory is that it's all her - she was supposed to pick her kid & was 5 minutes away & the next thing she knows he's calling her saying it's been 4 hours - which is I assume the time it took her to hack up the bodies & shove them in the car, clean the garage, etc. Right? I don't think they are 2 different people - or if so it's a split personality thing which is just a crazy person, not a super power.....IMHO.
And thanks for clearing up that the guy is Japanese - I don't mean to be politically incorrect I just didn't know....

laken1, the thing with nikki, is i think there are 2 of her. when she passes out, the other her comes out of the mirror. so it is not a split personality if there are 2 of her. when she looks in the mirror, her reflection is doing something other than what she is doing. it is like she multiplies herself.
I love this show! My bf is recording all of them so we can have a marathon when there's a break. It's seriously good.
As for the Vegas girl, I read somewhere that we're supposed to be confused about what her super power is. So I don't know what she is, exactly. Is it a split personality? Is it two people? Who knows? I thought the story with the boy's father was really interesting and I'd like to know more about that.
Peter is seriously hot. Wounded and broody? Just my type. Throw in a little flying and you've got potential for serious heartthrob. His brother is a jerk. I hope he loses that election. He's on Sylar's hit list anyway, so maybe he'll be the next to bite it.
I don't know who the black guy in the bar was. I thought he was Sylar but I guess he could be anyone at this point. And I also distrust the neighbor girl. She's very cute and all and I know she makes good mac 'n cheese but come on! She's so very obvious. I'm always suspicious of mac 'n cheese makers. Dark souls living underneath that ooey, gooey cheesy goodness.
I wonder how the cheerleader girl temporarily died? Was the part of her brain that heals herself stuck with a branch? That part confused me. If you cut off her head, would it grow back? I'm not up on my regenerative powers enough...
I absolutely LOVE this show! It's my new favorite, since LOST is sort of "meh" these days and we're still a few months from 24.
Re: the violence -- I think the show pays homage to comic books/graphic novels, and violence is a part of that. It doesn't bother me too much, although the one scene where Claire stuck her fingers in the garbage disposal still makes me shudder. I, too, am surprised that it's allowed to put so much gore on network TV.
I am still unsure as to why all of these powers appeared so suddenly -- the eclipse? I think Sylar is some sort of super-evolved human, beyond the others. I wonder if Mohinder's dad helped enhance his power at some point during his studies?
Re: Claire's "death" - she has to be able to die in some way. She reminds me of Wolverine from X-Men.
Also, remember that all superheroes are supposed to have a weakness. Do you see any indications of these yet?

I think this show has a lot of promise. Like a couple of other people mentioned, I was pretty shocked at all the violence, considering it's prime time. I'm a huge horror movie fan and don't mind gore, but I just wasn't expecting that much on regular tv.
i just wanted to add, that i kind of thought it was funny that you all were shocked at the violence of this show. i wasn't at all. especially for it being primetime. i was more shocked to see the amount of sexual content and nudity alloud in prime time television these days. i have seen a few shows where people are showing a lot of sideboob, full bare butt and sex scenes that were, i felt, way tooooo graphic for television and no bats an eyelash. i would rather have my 3 year old walk into the room and see the violence than the sex that is on tv any more.
