I can't wait to see the premiere tonight! My TV is on its last legs so I bought a new one and am setting it up today. I am very dorkily excited to see Lost on a better set. :)
I too, am very excited to get started with a brand new season of Lost. The BF and I were discussing it last night and he really offended me when he called it "the best show on television." While I think it is one of the best I had to point out that it is clearly not better than 24 (of which we are major fans). He said that he thought they were both equally good until I reminded him that while Lost sometimes disappoints us with a crappy episode (of which there were many in season 2), Jack Bauer never disappoints!! HA!

Yeah, last season was not as great as the first one. I'm trying to get my BF into Lost. Last spring he fell asleep during the episode when Michael was back, and then I woke him up by shrieking in surprise at the end when Michael killed Ana-Lucia and Libby. To avoid any more incidents like that, he's going to watch this year so he can stay interested and awake!

i was discussing lost with a friend earlier, and he told me he read somewhere that we should not be disappointed with any episode this season - they're all action-packed. i guess we'll see. i just hope there aren't 3 week gaps with no new episodes again.
sawyer, sayid and jin, oh my!

I am super excited about this, I really hope the producers don't string us along like last season with the long intervals between new episodes. I am planning ahead so that I make sure my toddler is asleep before 8PM sharp! I can't wait!

Wooooot! Yay for Lost. No breaks between episodes this season-- we're getting 7-8 new episodes this fall, then the show goes on a winter hiatus and comes back in Feb or Mar and runs straight through until the season finale.
finally! I've been waiting for tonight ever since last season's finale! I read somewhere that tonight's episode would be Jack-centric. I am so excited!
What? It was on TONIGHT??? I fugging missed it! They better run it again! I guess they didn't premote it enough or I just don't watch much of the network because I was thinking this was next week.

I think you can go to ABC and watch it from your computer.
i agree, farrah, it was okay but nothing great. i wanted to see what everyone else was up to, too. plus i think jack is my least favorite of the main characters, so that could have something to do with it.

I agree w/ this, the episode was too Jack heavy. Initially, Jack was one of my favorite characters, but now he kind of annoys me.
I definitely enjoyed the portions of the show that featured Kate and Sawyer more, and I was relieved to see Kate and Sawyer getting to interact at the end of the episode.
Did it seem like there were a rediculous amount of commercials last night? It felt like I spent more time watching commercials than the actual show.
Was anyone else disappointed? It was just alright for me.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt this way. I wanted to know about the rest of the cast & thought it was rather weak for a season premiere. Next week's show looks pretty good though & I can't wait for that one to air.
This is the first time I've watched Lost live. I've watched the previous seasons on DVD. Can I just say it SUCKS to watch Lost real time? Sooo many commercials, and nothing happens! I guess when I watch it on DVD it seems like a lot happens because I'll watch several episodes at a time.
They sure left a lot of questions unanswered, and brought up new ones that I'm sure won't be dealt with thill next season. Ugh.
