What to wear with a gray sweater vest?

I finally found my perfect old-man sweater vest!!! I tried to find a picture of my new sweater or similar one online, but I can't. It's pretty basic, so I'll just describe it: It's a deep V (the "neckline" goes down past my boobs). It is a light grey color, it's sleveless, and it buttons up with well-sized buttons. It goes a little past my hips. I love it because it reminds me of old man sweaters, but it was obviously made for a woman. I've been trying to find one forever, even scouring the men's departments. But of course nothing fit quite right. I found it at Urban Behavior of all places.

Anyway, I'm having difficulty coming up with outfits for it! Of course I tried it on with my white button down, and it looks really great - but I want more variety than that. Especially since I can't find a button down that fits me phenomenally to begin with.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could layer under it, other than a plain white button down? I love it and want to wear it every day, but I can't figure out what to wear it with!

I have a slouchy gray sweater vest w/ a deep v.  It doesn't have buttons, though.  I've only worn it twice so far since it's still pretty warm where I am.  I've worn it with a black skirt and a lavender button down and with my dark gray slacks and a teal tuxedo blouse.  I think it looked cute w/ both.  When it gets cooler, I plan on wearing it over my red button downs too.
