I was just wondering if anyone else was on it and actually liked it? I am and I do, but it's rare for me to find other ladies who feel the same way. I know a lot end up with huge problems while on it so they don't, but I don't have that so I love it!

It's completely fabulous to not have a period and no PMS!

I was on it for a while and really liked it.  I didnt get any side-effects.  While not having a period is great thats one of the things I know a lot of women worry about.

Funny you should mention, i just came from getting my shot.  I've been on it forever & I love it.  I've never experienced anything negative & its sure beats taking a pill everyday.  The concept of not having a period does seem strange, but I'm over it.  My doctor says if it works for me than not to worry.

On a side note, my dr's office doesnt carry it b/c my insurance doesnt cover it.....so I have to go fill the prescription every three months & then go in to have them administer it.

Not having to remember to take a pill everyday is also one of my favorite benefits.  I suck at remembering to do that (forgot multiple times when I was on pills), so this is great for me.

I just got my shot yesterday, lol, which is what reminded me to post about it

I have a friend that is on it & loves it. When I asked my doctor she said there were more negative results than positive & she couldn't recommend it to patients that had never tried it. Her main concern was my weight & that some people reported serious weight gain - 20-50 pounds, not just 5 & we both knew that wasn't an option for me since I'm already 40ish lbs overweight.

I'm glad you found something that works for you & I wish my solution was simple as I've heard good things about it. I just can't chance the weight gain issue even if it is remote. I've even considered having DH get a vacectomy but without my pills to regulate me I'm a nightmare (got off the pill for about 6 months many years ago. I would think most people that have something that works have a hard time switching to something unknown.

i absolutely loath the the depo shot.  i will never ever ever again try it.  it made me extremely moody, it gave me severe leg cramps.  i have been off of it for a year and a half and the effects still have not worn off.  it screwed up my system so badly i don't ovulate anymore and now if i have to  have hormone treatments and possibly other fertilization treatments to get pregnant.

I guess everyone is different..

it made me moody and I got a little bloated..

but aside from that it was convenient..

and when I got off it (mainly because of the moodiness)

I got pregnant and I wasn't even trying to

I have a friend that had similar experience with it as well...

that's not to say that Tashina's experience in the exception..I know it's messed up a lot of people..

I really liked the shot, especially not having my period, but after being on it for 3 years, I gained over 20 pounds, which all came off as soon as I switched back to the pill.
