Can I wear this to work?  I know some of you girls have seen what I would typically wear to work and many times the women there see me as overdressed.  I am just not sure if shorts will be ok.  What do you guys think?  FYI- for those of you that don't know me, I am a teacher (5th grade this year).  Would you flip if your kids teacher wore shorts to school?

Oh yeah, of course I would iron before wearing

I think you can do it, but I'd start with the button-up outfit first, to kind of test the waters.  It looks the most professional, imo.

are you kidding me? so many teachers are young now and i remember when he was in 2nd or 3rd grade he had this young looking teacher and she would wear these combat boots that she would lace all the way up to her knees!

your shorts are not too short at all and i think they are okay to wear as a teacher.....

I think that they are fine, but I would start with the button down to just kind of test it out.

I think they're cute and totally appropriate, but my school's dress code wouldn't allow it. As long as it isn't against your rules, I think it's cute! I like FP's idea of a button-down.

Yes, the button-down will dress them up, like everyone's saying.  It looks like you're wearing wedges in the pic -- I definitely think wedges or another type of heel would dress the look up even more!  It's very cute and still professional.

I would try the button down first as well, but I have that green top too, and I would consider it appropriate for a middle school environment.  I actually wore mine to a party last Saturday night with some dressier khaki bermudas (from Dillards as well... same dept) and some wedge sandals.  I thought it looked cute!

Ok- I'm going to play around with it some more and see what else I can come up with.  You girls know better than the 80 year olds that still work at that school right?  Wouldn't you know it, it's going to be the coldest day tomorrow.  It's been deathly hot, and now it's not supposed to be.  Ughhh!  I think I'll aim to wear it next week. I have a different shirt I want to wear with it but it's not clean.

HB- We have no dress code.   It's one of the few things our union has done for us.

I just started wearing business casual again. I've seen a lot of really cute bermuda short looks on one of my co-workers, who wears them all the time. I prefer it with a more tailored look for work, but that's a matter of personal style more than anything. I'd want to see the shorts with a slimmer wedge or a heel.
