Britney Spears gave birth to her second son early Tuesday morning, according to the National Enquirer and US Weekly. The 6-pound, 11-ounce baby reportedly made his debut just before 2 a.m. in a Los Angeles area hospital.
The baby's arrival came two days short of the first birthday of Spears and husband Kevin Federline's first son, Sean Preston.
According to the report, Spears' mother Lynn and sister Jamie Lynn, along with Federline, were present at the birth

dude, I swear to god I saw a tabloid headline today screaming "IT'S A GIRL!!!" Maybe the fine print under that was to the effect of "Britney feels sure her second child will be a girl..." but I didn't stop to check.
I bought that magazine and you're right - there was fine print about her *thinking* it was a girl. EVERY magazine said it was a girl - looks like they were wrong!
Number 1 - The 'thing' for starlets to do these days is schedule their babies to be born via c-section weeks before they are due to avoid the stretched out (and possibly stretch marked) last month of pregnancy and the weight gain that goes along with that. This baby was 'due' about the same time as Sean Preston, and his birthday is on the 14th, so she had this one early too.
Number 2 - There would be no reason to perform a scheduled c-section at 2 am. Either the report is off or not true, or she is throwing big bucks at her doc not to be one the 'regular people' schedule. My bet is at the very least it's off - they also don't allow 3 people into the surgery suite to accompany the mother, and that doesn't change for nobody.
I find this whole thing just as squicky as her first birth was ...

Yeah, that was my question as well. What sort of doc schedules a c-section in the ass crack of the night? Something's off about that- either the times are wrong or she had a c-section because of some other reason, maybe because she started having contractions early and wanted the c-section anyway. All I know is that voluntary c-sections aren't scheduled at that time, they just aren't.
