Brighton, Copenhagen, Konstanz/Tubingen...

I would have to say no to Copenhagen. We have a major client in the city and not one of the people on my team that has visited (this includes me) has placed it high on our "must see" list. It was a dirty city and everyone was fairly uptight/serious. In terms of language, you wouldn't really have a problem. English was widely spoken. They do have all these bikes in the city that can be rented for a couple of bucks... that was one neat thing.

Have you looked at Stockholm? Not to go off on a tangent, but between Copenhagen and Stockholm, Stockholm is hands down the better city.

I love England, so I'd vote for that in the cities you have listed!!

My school is a partner institution with only afew schools which are located in the places i listed. I could do an exchange through another university but it would be alot more expensive.
I was leaning towards Brighton too. My hesitation with going to England is the high exchange rate for the pound. My brother studied in Nottingham and he said although he blew alot of money abroad it was well worth it because he had an amazing time there.
Any advice on the cities in Germany? Thank you Jah for your input (Stockholm will def be on my list of cities to visit in Europe in the future) and anyone else with advice! :)

I lived in Copenhagen for 2 yrs when I was in Middle school and LOVED the city. I found the people friendly and really enjoyed living there... was majorly bummed when my parents were sent home sooner than expected.

Like Jah mentioned, English won't be a prob....

my best friend spent a year in copenhagen and always says its the greatest city in the world - she had the best experience.

One of my friends lived in and went to elementary school in Copenhagen and still basically considers herself Danish. This is despite being a Daughter of Texas and a current resident of the NYC area. She's trying to go back this spring to study aborad (she's a junior in college)

Hmmm... looks like everyone but me likes Copenhagen! I would imagine it is different to live there than visit. I'm also looking at the city through the glasses of comparison of all my favorite European cities, so take that into account on my assessment!

Is there anyway you can speak with students that have been in the program from each city? I would ask them about their experiences to get an idea of what might be the best fit for you.

That being said, I still vote England!

My mother studied in Tubingen and loved it. That was in the early 70's, but it's apparently a picture perfect little university town on a beautiful river and filled with medieval buildings. I vote for that because I've always wanted to visit, but haven't made it there yet!

I fulfilled part of my MBA "international residency" requirement in Copenhagen. I liked it, people are friendly, and there isn't much of a language barrier. I like the idea of Konstanz/Tubingen, but I think it would be more removed and I know there would be more of a language barrier. You can't go wrong with Brighton, no language barrier, and you can easily take trains to France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Have you been to Europe before? I've never been to Copenhagen, but I'm not generally overly fond of people from Northern Europe, and I know Stockholm/Sweden was definitely not one of my favorite places to go. That being said, Germans can also have a bit of a stick up their butts.

One of my best friends had an amazing time in Copenhagen though...Frankly, I think you'll have an amazing time no matter where you go, as long as you have the right attitude. You will definitely blow through a lot of money studying in England, so you might well break even going through another university program if you went to another country. As for the language barrier, I don't think it will be a problem in Germany...when I've been to Germany, everyone spoke English. Besides, learning a new language is part of the fun! And the best way to learn is if no one speaks English.

I feel really overwhelmed by the decison that I have to make because the deadline for the application is only a week away and I still dont know what to do.

Gingembre1 I backpacked through western europe last summer and I had an amazing time which is why i really want to go back and study there.

D One of my pro's of choosing Brighton is so I could easily visit France and the other surrounding countries. Last summer I only spend a day or two in Paris, Amsterdam etc. and I really want to go back. Im dying to go to Antwerp for the shopping...haha. Im looking into studying at Copenhagen Business School. Have you heard of anything about this school?

Anyhoo, Ive done some research for both Universities that Im interested in and they both seem great. They offer courses that I need for my majors.

After writing all of this, for some reason I feel like Im leaning more towards Copenhagen. Im going to meet with my exchange advisor today and hopefully she will answer some of my quesitons. THank you all again!
