Has anyone here had a broken little toe? Mine was broken a couple of weeks ago and I was told by my doctor to buddy-tape it to the adjacent toe, there's not much more they can do. Now it's been two weeks and when I look at it, it looks to be sticking up. After googling about it I got scared because people say it can heal like that and I'll be stuck like that! I called my dr. and the nurse told me to give it another week, that it's not done healing.
I was wondering if anything like this has happened to anyone and what was the time frame before everything was back to normal? I'm really freaking out here - I don't want a deformed toe that will prevent me from wearing the shoes I love!

Is it literally sticking up or is it just so swollen that it looks like it is sticking up?
I broke mine years and years ago. Mine was super swollen and black, so it looked pretty bad for 3 or 4 weeks. My doctor gave me the same advice about taping it to the neighboring toe. Mine never really looked like it was sticking up tho.
Well, it should take between 4 and 6 weeks for it to heal. Did you put padding between the toes you taped together? And have you since taken it off and retaped it...adjusting the position?
awww. i dropped an eight pound weight on my foot one time and it was soooo painful. i really feel for you.
unfortunately there's really nothing you can do except to try and splint it. i would give it another week. i broke my pinky about two months ago and it's still a bit "off".

I broke my pinky finger when I was 10, and it healed crookedly too. I am pretty sure they can re-break and re-set it if it stays that way, though (I opted for crookedness).

I have broken my baby toes numerous times (as well as other toes...) I guess I'm clumsy! It depends on how bad you break it how long it takes to heal. I once heard its a week per millimeter of the length of your toe. That held true with my last break but other times its been less. Good Luck and tape it up!! It really works.
