So I'm on a family vacation this week and just found out today that I'm going to have a "pre-interview" on Wednesday.  This is basically to make sure personalities mesh and that the company and I are both still interested before I have a full interview next week.

What do I wear?  I brought my brown herringbone skirt suit, a pink twinset shell, and brown heels with me just in case, but is a suit too much for a pre-interview?  Or should I buy a different top to wear with my skirt and heels?

I have a Nordstrom, Anthropologie, BR, Gap, etc. nearby.  I'd like to spend under $75 if I need to buy anything.  Ideas???

Thanks!

I have the same herringbone BR skirt that you have and I would just wear that w/ a nice sweater or cardigan. I don't think a suit is necessary if this is just a pre-interview.

I would wear that, but carry the jacket instead of wearing it.  This makes it slightly more casual, but if you feel like you should wear a jacket you can always put that on.

This is perfect...I've always erred on the side of conservative at interviews and carried or worn the jacket accordingly.

I am not sure what kind of job it is, but I agree w/ above.  Err on the side of caution - especially with a pre-interview.

Good Luck!
