So, I gave notice at my job last week! Eeek! I'll be there until the beginning of October, most likely. Oh yeah, and I have nothing lined up yet. Extra eek!
I'm alternating between being really excited about new opportunities and being really scared that I may have done the stupidest thing ever by leaving without having something lined up. But I didn't want to go about job searching by having to sneak around behind my boss's back and I ended up with his full support and approval, so that's very cool.
I need to go on a full bore shopping ban now though and start socking away all that money into savings in case I need it. It's an awful time of year for a shopping ban, obviously, and hopefully it won't be long (cross your fingers!) but is anyone else going to be needing a shopping ban? I'm gonna need all the help I can get on this one!
I really need to join you on this shopping ban...but I am kind of stuck. I just started a new job and my hubby and i are wanting to save like crazy and try to buy a house in the next couple of months. However, I have no clothes that are work appropriate. As an intern I was able to get away with more casual clothes, but now I need to be more professional.
I guess this first paycheck is just going to have to go toward a couple of suits, and then it is a full on shopping ban!
Congrats! I know it's scary...my DH did the same thing a couple of years ago and it took him about a month to find something, but now he has a job he loves. I'll be sending lots of good thoughts your way. Congrats again!
Congratulations! I know you will find something better for you.
Can't join you on the ban, as we are traveling in just over a week and my b-day shopping this year will be in Europe. I just can't give that opportunity up. But I'm with you in spirit! ~wink~
BTW did you get that black Biasia??

Nope, not yet. I really wanted to get it, but just about the time that the auction ended was the time that I told my boss that I was leaving, so I figured I'd rather have that extra $150 or in the bank instead of on my arm. It'll be my treat for myself when I find a new job.
I was in the same situation two months ago. Gave my notice without a new job lined up. It's really impossible to be going to interviews while you are suppose to be working! You don't want your interviewer to think you'd skip out on work you know?!
Anyways, I got a new job within a month and it pays more so well worth not having money coming in for a short while.
