I don't think we started a post on it yet... I liked it! I thought it was one of their best in a while. I tore out a lot of things, especially the shoe pages (but I always love those). I liked a lot of the layering ideas; in fact the only thing I hated was the "new volume" story, which was six pages of baggy, shapeless, incredibly unflattering clothing.

i havent gotten mine yet... but i did get my shop etc. and i really love the issue.  i just want to buy everything!

I know, I loved that one spread they had w/ all the purple/burgandy outfits. YUMMY!

oooohhhhh.... uh oh. Purple & burgundy are two of my favorite fall colors, and spreads with them usually make me want to buy everything in sight.

I loved this issue also.  Some things I liked:
Pg 314-The 70's slinky look(I just picked up a vintage white disco wrap dress with this huge glittery wing design on it that I'm so excited about)


Pg 339-The elegant grunge look.  It seems weird that this look was just at its peak 12-13 years ago.  I wore a modified 90210 version of this look back in the nineties(slip dress, baby tee, boots), and love the updated version.


Pg 186-I've been hunting for a short casual dress to wear with boots for years, and can't seem to find the perfect one.  I'm contemplating just hemming a long dress. 


Pg 231-I'm really in love with the jumper look, and I love the red flat mary janes providing a pop of color in The Classic photo.  Not so crazy about the volume of the dress in the A Fresh Spin pic, but the brown tights and brown velvet peep toes seem so fresh compared to past seasons black.

ohhhh, I got mine today & was going to set tonight aside to go through it slowly. Now I can't wait! Must go cook dinner so I can sit down with it over wine & see what all the fuss is about. What's up with the bonus mag? I hope it's good too.

I was happy with lucky also, exception for the new volume looks- who can actually wear that and look attractive! But, I really loved Shop Etc... they did a great job! There were so many pages I bookmarked, and the clothing was more in line with what I can actually afford. I love that banana republic sweater dress, I dont have the magazine in front of me- but i have to have it! There was also a wool dress from banana that I would like to check out. It looks like I need to also check out payless shoes , there were some really nice looking shoes in the advertisement.

i was so happy that the fall issue was so thick.  and i loved the shoe section and the makeup sections, especially the page with all of the mascara and the foundation page. 


other than that, i was kind of dissapointed.  not really with the magazine itself, since they had a couple of pretty good lucky breaks and contests, if you win them, but more with the fall fashions.  i don't like what is coming out for fall.  i don't think i will be very stylish this fall.  i am going to stick with my fall favorites from last fall. 


i have been meaning to ask for the past couple of issues, is that carmendy from WNTW in the paul mitchell adds?  if so, is she married to paul mitchell?  there is an add whre they show the pics of her on two pages, and on the back of one page, she is kissing his cheek and all hugged up with him so it made me wonder.  i know he is married to a blonde lady, but i wonder if it was carmendy but i just never recognized her before.

I liked the fall makeup trends. The berry stained lips, were my favorite.

The shoe guide was also great.

But WTH was up with all the hideous bag lady looking outfits. They made even those skinny models look huge.

Ok, did anyone else see the Charles David Aubrey boots in the shoe guide?  I am in love which is bad because they are $450 but they are the exact boots I want for fall - chocolate brown, knee high that fold over, and will fit over skinny jeans.  Sigh...


Overall, I thought the issue was pretty good - definitely the best in a while.

LOL well they hate 90024 too! That's why I stopped subscribing and just went to the newsstand in the village instead by Rite Aid. I was not happy when my magazine wouldn't show up until the 19th...


I am actually going to give the volume a shot. I was really really drawn to it and loved the way it was presented. I've also come to the realization that I tend to jump on trends when it's too late. I've been reading around and the volume seems to be less of a 'trend' than a 'silhouette shift'. If indeed it's a silhouette shift, then we're going to be in it for 5-10 years. Besides, I'm 21 and it's kinda hard to look any more like a complete dolt than I already do.


In short, I too enjoyed it. I'm running out of 'Yes' stickers for the first time in a VERY long time!

The "new shape" is just bad looking on people of all shapes and sizes.
I especially loved the Kenzie shirt on page 64 (ad).
