my sister and i watched this trailer and i think it looks like it could be really good.  i am goint to see it.  what does everyone else think?  here is a link to the two trailers.  i like the music they put to the commercials.  i don't know why.   just the vibe it gives off while watching it i think.

I think I'm going to like it for the same reason why I liked Moulin Rouge, the set design and costumes.

I'm definitely going to see it. I loved Sofia Coppola's previous movies, and Kirsten Dunst was amazing in The Virgin Suicides.

I'm probably going to see it - I liked the Virgin Suicides and loved Lost in Translation - but the trailers didn't really excite me at all. I'm not sure if the ones posted here are new (couldn't get them to load on my computer). I've seen the teaser trailer that was set to New Order's "Age of Consent" - it didn't have any dialog and looked kind of fun - and then a longer one with dialog which looked visually cool but for some reason made me think the movie will be boring. I'm very interested to see what it's actually like. It was booed at Cannes but who knows if that was a response to the quality or to the French subject being done by Americans.

I'm definitely going to see it, although I feel a little less enthusiastic after the latest trailer with added dialogue. I love the visual style so far and the music choices could be really cool and interesting --but the dialogue sounded like modern-day, which kind of turned me off, but it could turn out to work.

I plan to see it also - really only because I was in Paris in July and stood in Marie Antoinette's cell in the Concergerie (sp?). It was very cool. Oh, and I like Kirsten Dunst - I think she has a lot of range as an actress and I'd like to see her portrayal of Marie Antoinette. If I ever get around to it, I will post the pics of her cell!!

I totally agree.  I plan on seeing it, the sets and costumes look beautiful and I love Kirsten Dunst.
