Ok girls - I have a little bit of bad news.  I called Cafe baba Reeba yesterday to make our reservation for Friday night, and was told that the majority of their restaurant is closed on Friday due to a private party, so we can't get a reservation there


Rather than even try to reschedule, my suggestion is that we pick a different restaurant in the city and still do the same date/time.


If we want to do tapas still, there's also Sangria, Cafe Iberico, and more I'm sure.  Otherwise, we can do a different type of restaurant all together.


I need your input girls- what does everyone suggest?

That royally sucks!  Iberico doesn't take reservations so I would say that they are out.  We could try Sangria, Bravo and Del Toro in Bucktown are also both supposed to be good, but I haven't tried either. 


Moe's Cantina does Tapas too.

I'm up for any type of resteraunt really, wherever we can get reservations for all of us! I've heard good things about 1492 Tapas Bar. We can also do Sushi which is sort of like Tapas. sushi samba is fabulous!

I would also be up for Sushi if everyone else were down.  (I know it is an acquired taste though.)

1492 Tapas Bar is terrible!  I went a few mos ago w/friends hearing great things, and it was a huge disappointment.


If everyone else wants sushi, I won't be a pooper, but I really don't like it.

Why don't you try to get us a rez at Sangria Kim?  If everyone vetoes it we always have the option of cancelling.

Done!  I just hung up w/Sangria and we are all set for Friday night @ 7:30pm.  Reservation is under "Kim".  For those of you who have never been there, Sangria is located at 901 W. Weed Street.


Can everyone who is going please check in this thread and confirm that they are still coming and have seen the change of restaurant?  Thanks girls!

Checking in. Got the info. That's such a bummer about Cafe Baba Reeba, I was looking forward to the peach sangira, although I am sure Sangria has good Sangria But I don't care where we meet, I am just so excited!! Thanks for taking care of all this!!

Never fear ladies!!  It appears that Sangria has peach flavor as well.  Whew!!

Just saw this!  I'm in for Sangria.  


By the way, I know we're not doing sushi but this made me think of Tokyo 21 next door.  I was there their opening Saturday and it was so yum I wanted to recommend :) 
They have tapas-style dining too - and quite a few selections other than sushi (mini kobe burgers, apple/chicken lettuce wraps, beef ribs, etc).  The spicy tuna martini rocks. 

Ok, back to work... glad I saw this post!

I'm all set, just have to pick my shirt up from the dry cleaners tonight. God, I feel like I'm going on a date! The only other ST'er I have met is Mikacat and when we met my DH was like "what if it's a guy posing as a girl??" And now that I am going this time, he STILL thinks that!! So, are any of you serial killers?? I won't drink Sangira with any serial killers!! lol
