Rock Star???

* I thought Storm did a great job last night, but I don't really like her personality-wise.
* I liked Lukas at first, but like Jason said - I want to hear him really sing. He kinda growls or whatever, and it annoys me.
* Zayra really irritates me - she sucks, has a horrible voice and is arrogant. I hope she goes home.
* I can't stand Josh either. He's such a dork and he belongs in a Dave Matthews cover band, not Supernova.
* I love Toby still. I thought he did a good job last night, but not his best like they said.
* I like Jill too - I thought she did a good job, and I thought Gilby was a dick to her about that grinding comment.

I love Dave by the way - the comment he made to Patrice had me cracking up! "Dave, do you move around a lot on stage? Dave - "yeah, but here's the difference, I have a job." I him.

Ok, Laken - what are your thoughts?

I think they will/should pick Dilana. She creeped me out at first but the more I watch the more I like her & I think she's a good fit. And her voice is so different I love her now!

I still like Storm, but she's too sexual (?) I can't figure out the right word - not sexy but throwing out the sex? I'm all for being a slutty rock star but she is just pushing the wrong buttons for me.

Josh, Phil & Zayra need to go right now. It amazes me how these people keep playing alternative & think they are "rocking" - there is a difference. We are talking people from heavy metal bands - get off the Nirvana, PLEASE.

I still like Toby too though I can't pinpoint why - I am starting to come to the conclusion that he's not all that great of a singer, and trust me, I'm a terrible judge of this!

I still don't know what to make of Lukas. His "killers" look just makes me cringe....

ETA: I'm not really a fan of Jill though I really liked her performance last night. Gilby was SUCH a dick, I agree, and I loved that Dave stood up for her & said they'd be grinding all night long. Funny.

Oh I agree somewhat about Dilana. She's growing on me after last night - I really like how she let herself sing - she was good! I don't love her yet, but I think she'd be a good frontwoman for the band and I also think she seems like a really cool person.

Couldn't agree w/you more about Storm being too sexual -she's rubbing me the wrong way.

I totally agree w/ you, Laken about Dilana and Storm. I think Dilana is awesome.

I didn't think I would like the sound of Supernova, but I really liked the bits I heard from their songs last night. It's got more of a rock feel than a metal sound, which I'm definitley thankful for.

I did NOT like Jill though. I was thinking Gilby's thoughts before he said them. When a female is fronting a band like that, I want to see her being powerful and see that she has respect from the guys in the band. I felt like Jill was kinda just trying to make the boys horny - which is the obvious route to take when you are an attractive woman. I like the way Dilana presents herself - still sexy, but less suggestive or something? I just can't put my finger on it.

And I agree. re: Dave.

I do not get Supernova. Why would you send Phil home instead of Zayida? Ugh, I hate her - her voice is awful and so is her attitude. I never agree w/the guys.

I'm with ya 100%. I don't get it. We thought maybe it's because they know they can kick her any week because she will continue to be in the bottom 3- but it still makes no sense to me. I don't want to hear / see her anymore!!!!!

I disagree. I don't have an opinion of Phil, although I really felt his song sucked compared to Patrice and Zayida's. Patrice rocked, of course (and yes I love her so I'm definitely biased). I was really, really impressed with Zayida's version of Addict. It gave me goosebumps when I was watching it and that hardly ever happens to me. She may be weird but she's definitely a person who can express herself musically.

I guess my beef with the Zayra deal is that they have told her over & over & over that she isn't right for them & isn't what they are looking for - so why keep her around? And though I think there is an audience for her (just like there is for Dana, Phil & Josh) - I don't think it's the same ones that would go to see a band made up of a former Guns & Roses, Metallica, and Bon Jovi member.

Blubirde - I thought about you with Patrice last night - I was shocked she was in the bottom 3. Though I think she's talented I haven't thought she was a good fit with them either, but her performance last night ROCKED!

Ok, I'm a little late to the game - but I have something HILARIOUS to share about this show...well about Phil... So I've been watching all along and thinking how "familiar" Phil is - but you know, whatever... Then up on the screen it said he was from Ocean City,MD (oh and by the I think he's super dirty sexy hot aka DSH) and I'm from around there so I just figured that I'd seen him at the beach in the summer before...End of story - til I happen to mention at work to a friend that I think he's DSH and she says that her b-friend is an a band and his band and Phil's band play together a lot and she can introduce me to him. (YAY!) So, I say - really? what is the name of his (Phil's) band? She says Lennex. At which point, I had a rare moment of complete clarity - Phil was so "familiar" to me b/c I saw Lennex play at a bar called the Bottle & Cork 2 years ago on 4th of July and after the show.... I kissed him!!!! How randomly funny is that?? And, better yet that it took me that long to remember!!
