Best lip balm
Permalink Closed

I know this has been discussed before, but I am looking for a new lip balm.

It needs to be a stick, not a pot.  At home, I use Smith's Rosebud Salve and really like it, but I don't like carrying pots around with me (this may sound weird, but I feel as if my hands are always dirty when I am not at home and can't wash them whenever I feel like, so I don't like the idea of dipping my fingers in the pot).

Also, I have tried all the Chapstick and Blistex lip balms out there and need something new.  I have been using Blistex Complete Moisture for years, but it just isn't cutting it anymore.

I really need a super moisturizing stick lip balm because the air at work is sooooo dry!

My favorite is The Body Shop Vitamin E lip balm. I've used it for years and my lips are never dry, no matter what the conditions are.

Burt's Bees lip balm is amazing.  Your lips tingle a little after using it because of the peppermint oil in it.

I like C. O. Bigelow's Mentha Lip Tint the best. I've used nude tinted and clear...they work equally well.

I like Kiehl's as well, so if you don't like minty tingly-ness I'd recommend this one. This has SPF.

Lip Balm SPF 15

I've also used Burt's Bees and thought it was pretty decent.

I forgot to mention, I also don't like Burt's Bees.  Thanks for the recs, though.

Anyone else?

try Aquaphor.  my best friend's dermatologist gave her free samples when she was on accutane and her lips were super chapped and she said it really helped.  and my other friend who moved to nyc from la said it was a life saver in the winter time.  here's what it looks like:

Aquaphor Healing Ointment

and here's their website:  http://www.eucerinus.com/products/hb_aho.html

oh and something else you might want to try is carmex, but it tingles.  here it is in the tube (it comes in a pot too):

Carmex Cold Sore Reliever and Lip Moisturizer, Tube

I second the Aquapor rec. I also got samples from my derm when I got an infection on my lips, which were terribly dry and peeling. After using it for a day my lips were sooo much more moisturized. The only down side is there's no spf.
