waxing eyebrows

On Saturday I went for the second time to get my eyebrows waxed. The first time I broke out on top of both eyebrows but I thought it was just because it was my first time. Well I went Saturday and barely today I noticed little zits on top of my eyebrows again.

Why does that happen? Is there anything I should do or shouldn't do?

I don't have that problem but I went to a waxer once who told me that a lot of people do because they touch (or the person who waxes them touches) the area that was just waxed. Apparently that causes little break outs. I personally like for the waxer to press on the areas she waxes immediately after she rips off the wax because it feels better but some people won't do it for the break out reason.

Do you or the person who does the waxing touch the area immediately after or during?

It happens to me too. Bring some zit cleansing pads w/ you and clean the area immediately after they wax.

Sometimes the ladies that do mine want to put on this lotion or oil or something right after they wax, but I don't let them because it tends to make me break out even more.

Also, someone once suggested to me to immediately apply something cold to the area so that the pours shrink back.

Blubirde: I think I did touch the waxed part after she waxed them and since myhands weren't just washed or anything that could have been it. But I know for a fact that she did just clean her hands because I saw her.

Kitty: The lady who did mine did put on some lotion right after.

I guess next time I will have to be more careful with not touching and to watch carefully what the lady is doing.

they should start out by using a cleanser/antiseptic on the eyebrow area first, then wax, then use the cleanser again followed by the oil.  that is the best way to avoid breakouts, etc.

try not to touch the area after waxing.  i usually go home after waxing and wash my face with my own cleanser and use my own moisturizer afterwards.  maybe that would make a difference.

You could also try doing your own brows. I just did it for myself yesterday and I'm so happy with the results.

I basically "colored" the part of the eyebrows that I wanted to keep w/ eyeshadow and an angle brush. I plucked everything else. They look better than what the salon normally does.

This would happen to me too the few times that I had it done (many years ago).  I highly recommend eyebrow threading.  I haven't had problems with breakouts since I stared threading instead of waxing. I think they look better too.
