a bookstore gift certificate? any gift certificate? everyone has to eat - a grocery store gift certificate?  a greeting card with cash in it?

oops, should have mentioned i can't really do this- this person is close friend but works above me in my company so it would be weird for me to give her money or a gift cert.

Books are always nice
What about a plant/flower in a nice container that she can reuse

Check red envelope- they've always got great gift items!
