After rampant speculation about Target’s next guest designer—and a rumor that a collection by Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez was in the works—The Daily has learned that the retail giant has chosen Behnaz Sarafpour for a collaboration on a capsule collection. Sarafpour will launch Target’s fourth design initiative from their successful Go International series—which in the past has featured affordable clothing and accessories from Luella Bartley, Tara Jarmon, and now Paul & Joe. Details on the partnership remain mum, but the line will be unveiled to select fashion press at an intimate party on July 18 at Rockefeller Center. Everyone else craving Sarafpour’s designer goods at Target prices will have to wait until the line officially launches in November—or they can sample the ragamuffin chic of Paul & Joe, the British label partnering with Target this summer. "and now Paul & Joe." Is P&J already in the stores??? I looked on the website last night to see if TJ was gone yet and it was all still there...
Also, I think this Target thing is funny because I was reading a book last night about fashion, but it was written in the 30's (I love old fashion books!) and the author was saying pretty much on the nose what is happening with Target. She said that soon designers would have to start designing smaller, cheaper collections to be more accessible to the masses

This is very cool. I'm impressed with the designer list, though I am a little surprised that Behnaz was chosen since I'm not sure that she's particularly well known among the masses. I am still gunning really hard for Proenza Schouler or Thakoon to go Target eventually.
the Target Go International designers have their stuff out on the floor for three months at atime. Tara Jarmon leaves on July 31 and Paul and Joe will be in stores from 8/1 - 10/31.
