I slipped today and as I was caught myself by trying to grab a tree, some bark got wedge underneath my fingernail. It hurt like hell and started bleeding immediately. The bleeding has now stopped but there is still a tiny bit of bark stuck underneath my nail. I have tried using tweezers to get it out, but I cannot reach it.


Stupid questipo n but can I just leave it in there or do I need to go to the hospital to have them remove it? I am concerned it will get infected. It still hurts a lot.

Ouch!! I'm so sorry that happened to you. You should probably get it removed by a doctor, just to be on the safe side and to protect from the risk of infection. My bf just went to the ER last week to get stitches on his chin (basketball injury) and got the doctor gave him a tetanus shot just in case.

Yeah I would definitely go to the Doctor for that one. It doesn't sound like a good thing.
