AE beaters...anyone have experience with them?
Permalink Closed

I'm trying to go a bit cheap on basics...this could be good or it could be bad. I bought three of these wifebeaters from AE for $6.95. Does anyone have experience with the AE ones?

I'm really big on J. Crew ones normally, but since I like about 75 miles away from the nearest J. Crew outlet, I have to pay full price. I refuse to shop at Old Navy/Gap/BR by principle (everything I buy from there turns to le shite...).

I have a few of them too.  One thing I don't like is that they seem kinda short in length.  Also, I don't know if the bottom of yours have a seam, but mine were an open seem so they are kind of unraveling at the bottom.  I like ON's better.

I wanted to know how well they wash and wear. I also want to know if they stretch out.

shopchicago33: I actually need the shorter length since I have a short torso and most beaters are too long. Mine don't have a seam either, but I don't mind since I paid so little for them

I actually have a short torso too and I find these a little too short still.. I still wear them, but I prefer them a little longer.  Hope they work out for you though!

So far they've washed and worn fairly well; I don't notice any unraveling or falling apart things. They do stretch out a teensy bit, but I always buy my beaters a little looser so they're longer.

Also, in saying that, I find that mine are fairly long (although I have a short torso)....I don't have the exact ones you posted, but they should be fairly similar
