When I went to the store on Tuesday morning they had a professional sign in the window that said "Handbags $150." I waited for about an hour for the store to open, but I finally left after I learned the store wouldn't open for at least another hour at 11 (I was really ill and couldn't wait any longer).  I called the store after it opened and a clerk said the only style left at that price was the purse in the window: It was the Louise bag in a seafoam green. I don't think it was the super-cool secret sale they had last week, because I would have waited around for that. What struck me as odd was there weren't any people waiting in line for the store to open at 11, and I left at 10.

If it doesn't rain, I'm going to do a bit of retail therapy after work and I'll let you know later about the sale.

I'd read about the sale last week and posted about it

NEW YORK — It was 11:30 a.m. on Friday, and Nancy Smith, a nanny, was on her way to Washington Square Park, stroller and tot in tow. Cutting through SoHo, however, something caught her eye: a sign in a window at 163 Mercer Street reading, "Marc Jacobs Secret Sale." Putting her park plans on hold, she planted herself and her charge in line for the chance to buy the designer's handbags, which were going for $150 a pop. According to Robert Rich, director of retail public relations, about 600 bags from Jacobs' resort 2000 collection were shipped in just for the sale.
