I saw a Botkier bag on ebay this weekend that I liked. The color is Toffee..
Anyway, the BIN was $550. It retails for over $600. The seller was accepting offers. It wasn't the auction format that I'm used to. But I have submitted offers before and never won anything this way. I decided to put an offer in for $400 (shipping is only $10). Well I check my email this morning to see that I won. I can't believe it. I am having serious buyers remorse. We just bought a new house and have racked up the credit cards buying our fridge, washer, dryer, furniture. The last thing I need is a new bag. On the other hand, it is pretty but even I know I don't need it.
My options:
1. Dont pay for it. I could try to just email and say I'm not buying it. I realize that this will prob result in negative feedback. I have 53 positive feedbacks now. Would 1 negative really effect me? Are their any other reprocussions of not paying for an item?
2. Suck it up. You committed to buying it. (I would have to use my almost maxed credit card to pay for it.)
3. Pay for it (with CC) and try to resell it. Will I have a problem reselling this bag for $400 on ebay?
I think you should pay for it - you knew about all your expenses, etc. when you made the offer. It sucks that you're having regrets now, but I don't think it's fair to not pay he seller.
I would just re-sell on eBay - you may be able to get more than $400 for it!
I agree w/the other girls - it's not fair to the seller to screw them over and not pay for it. Maybe you could try to talk to the seller first and see if they're willing to let you out of it, but tell them you understand if they can't. Otherwise, I think you need to pay for it and try to resell.
I agree w/ everyone else. Also look at it from the sellers standpoint? IIRC you have also sold things on ebay, how would you feel if a bidder stiffed you?
