Spears in Diaper Drama

Britney Spears stunned shoppers and staff at a Victoria's Secret lingerie shop last week, when she changed her son's diaper on the store's dirty floor.

The singer was shopping in Mission Viejo, Calif., on June 4, where she purchased some pink g-string underwear with 8-month-old son Sean Preston in tow.

The tot needed to have his diaper changed and the 24-year-old plopped him down on the floor next to the cash register.

A shocked sales associate recalls, "We don't have the cleanest floors. She just put him down and changed his diaper and then handed it to a sales clerk saying, 'Can you throw this away for us?'

"We told her that we couldn't put that in our trash."

Spears' parenting skills have been questioned several times this year -- in February she received a visit from the Department of Children and Family Services after she was photographed driving with her son seated on her lap.

In April, Sean Preston was briefly admitted to the hospital after he fell from a faulty high-chair while in the care of his former nanny, and last month Spears defended herself again after the baby was spotted slumped in the back of her car.

I can just hear her excuse already "My momma used to change me on the floor in Louisiana.  We're country."  Sorry hon, that's disgusting.  Does she have no actual adults in her life that can tell her how to behave?

Oh give me a break, sometimes as a mom you just don't have a choice. Granted, if it came down to that I would have put a blanket down first but who's to say she didn't? People really need to stop judging, especially those of you with out children.

I am far from a Britney fan but give the girl a break! Being a mom is hard enough with out the entire world judging you.

Uh, welcome to the forum. I see that you're new.

There is such a thing as public bathrooms with diaper changing stations. I used to work in retail and we actually had a bathroom in our store for customers with a changing station and mothers still insisted on changing their kids diapers in the fitting rooms. There really isn't an excuse for that at all.

While I agree that being a mother is hard and Brit-Brit can't move her little finger without the paparazzi being all over her, there is no reason whatsoever that anyone would need to change their baby right there in the checkout lane.  The 3 minutes it would have taken her to get herself to a fitting room or a bathroom is not going to do any harm to the kid.

If she wants the paparazzi to leave her alone and for people to stop gossiping about her parenting skills, she needs to stop doing assinine things, period!  She just makes herself more of a spectacle!

Ugh she just disgusts me.  There is no need to change a baby on the floor of a store where people walk.  That is just unsanitary.  Lord only knows how often the carpets are actually cleaned there.  I don't consider vacuuming to be proper cleaning of carpet either.

Please note that my mom never changed me on the floor of a store while raising me in Louisiana.  It is not a common thing here.

The thing that bugs me the most about this story is the fact that she asked a clerk to dispose of the diaper. That is so f-ing rude and nasty, it's like she does want to be treated like a celebrity after all.

NASTAY!  That is so disgusting, especially asking somebody to throw away a dirty diaper for you.

NCshopper you hit it on the head!!!!  This morning I was watching a preview of her interview with Matt Lauer and he was asking her about the incident with her driving with Sean on her lap and she LITERALLY said "that's what I used to do with my dad, we were country!"  "After all, Starbucks is only 5 minutes away"   NO EXCUSE if you ask me!!!!!

P.S. In the preview she is just gross.  She is wearing this way too small top and her boobs are like falling out.  This is freaking Matt Lauer, not some interview on MTV!!!  She has never and will never have class.  Her hair looked like it hadn't been washed in days and her nails were painted with this chipped purple nail polish.  She just looked so washed up.

Ugh, which also shows how stupid she is. There isn't a Starbucks ANYWHERE near where she grew up - probably the closest is 100 miles. Still. Trust me - it's one of my biggest pet peeves when I visit my family.

And thank you, Aurora, ITA - my mom had more sense & so does every other LA mom I care to be friends with. White trash is white trash no matter how much money you throw at it.

i am watching this right now and i am just sitting in disbelief at how trashy she is! (i have never seen an interview with her before) i mean if she bends over any further her boobs are gonna fall out of her top.

what? she could have gone and done it in the restroom. They even have little table things in there to do it so you don't have to put them on the floor.

Even it if was an emergency and she just had to change the diaper right there on the floor, she should *not* have asked the sales associate to toss the diaper.  That's so unbelievably rude!

I do think the paparazzi are obnoxious as hell though, they should leave the poor girl alone.  I can't imagine what it would be like to have them following me around all the time, desparate to catch every mistake I made.
