Two questions:

1. Want constitutes a "neutral" score as far as feedback goes? For example, I got a dress from eBay that was listed as "gently worn"..but I kind of felt like it more than "gently worn." Also, twice I've bought a dress and when it came the skirt/bottom part of the dress looked extremely different than the photo that was on their listing because in the listing they'd pinned the skirt/bottom back so it didn't look as full. I kind of want to give these seller's neutral feedback..but I'm not sure if that's appropriate.

2. I sold a shirt on eBay and while my listing says "payment must be received within 7 days." It's been 4 days and this seller still hasn't paid me. This concerns me because sometimes payments take a few days to clear and I'm not comfortable mailing something for a payment that hasn't cleared. Is it OK to follow-up with the buyer before the 7 days are up?

I really dont know what to say about the first one. I'd probably leave positive feedback but mention the problem in the comments (unless it was a case where it was a HUGE difference- like if it's really really little bo peep-ish feel I might be tempted to leave negative!)

I'd send an email to follow up. Just a nice reminder though, since they do have time still.

as far as neutral feedback goes, i would have no problem giving it.  i have before.  i bought a pair of shoes from an online store that sells on ebay.  they listed that i could pay with paypal, but when i went to pay with paypal, it said that they do not accept instant payments through paypal. so i went through their payment process, and it was a little more trouble than it was worth.  i almost didn't even get the shoes, because i was so annoyed with their process.  so i guess, i would say, that in your sittuation, a neutral feedback is appropriate.  all you have to go on is the picture that they provide for you, and they altered the apperance of the dress in the picture so you thought it would be different. 


on the second matter, i am with ilovechoo.  something like, just a friendly reminder you still have 3 more days to pay for your item.

When I see something like "payment must be received within 7 days," I assume the seller means I have seven days to send the payment, not that it must be received and cleared within that period. I'd be annoyed if a seller sent me a payment reminder when I hadn't yet missed the deadline. Once you get the payment within, you could tell the buyer that you need to wait for the payment to clear, before you send the item(s).

Hmm. Well, I once had a buyer pay on the 6th day. I waited for the payment to clear and then it didn't clear. So, I had to try to contact them and get them to re-pay.

But, I see your point.

So, I contacted the buyer and i'm GLAD I did because apparently they never got the original invoice. So, they paid right away. Yay!

I dont think you should leave neutral for something like the fullness of a skirt that should have been asked before the close of the auction.  But with the worn issuse I probably would have left a neutral


I dont see anything wrong with contacting the buyer and asking on the status of payment.  I always put payment must be recieved w/in 7 days but buy must make contact with method of payment in 3. So I think its a good idea to touch base with the buyer after a few days just to see if they've sent payment or just forgot about ya.

For me on ebay anything "gently worn" is going to show signs of wear, like fading, pills, perhaps stains, and general breakdown of the fabric.  "Like new" is what really is gently worn.  It could be worn a few times and still looks brand new.  "New without tags" most of these items actually have been worn but look brand new so they say it's new, sometimes they are brand new though.


Oh, so usually if I think they at least deserve a neutral feedback, I don't leave any feedback to prevent myself from getting a retaliatory negative.
