My DH is going to Ireland for 7 days / London for 4 days with his dad in a few weeks. He told me to be thinking of what kind of souveniur I'd like for him to bring me. He is bringing a pretty good load of money with him but really I'd like to keep my gift under $100 just in case he decides to get me something I'd rather not have....if you know what I mean. His "thoughtful" gifts are either terrific or a disaster.
I'm thinking of telling him to get me some celtic type jewelry - a ring or necklace or something...any other ideas from others that have been there?
PS - I'm really sad he'll be gone so long - including July 4th & I have no plans. Sorry - having a little pity party suddenly even though I've been knowing he was going since Christmas.....

I think that jewelry is beautiful! Good choices, although I have no idea what beauties Ireland and London have to offer, having never been there.
I was going to say a beautiful handknit wool sweater, but then I remembered that you are TX and are never cold! When I was there I saw a lot of lovely mohair throws for sale--they are very soft and come in gorgeous watercolor-y tones. That would be very pretty for the bed or sofa...
Something that I wish I would've bought when I was in Ireland is an Aran blanket. The sweaters look like this... And then it's just the same thing in blanket form. Anyway, I'm not sure why, but I just really liked them.
I also got a Clauddaugh ring which I love...
If you like crystal, Waterford crystsal is a typical Irish gift and you could tell him what to get. I'm trying to think of anything less touristy, but I can't. Most of my money was spent in pubs.
cadburry's chocolate and diet fanta? lol! Those are the things from there that I miss the most. For a 'real" gift though- jewelry is probably your best best. Or an aran blanket like Maddie said. A lot of there stuff is VERY tourisy/ cheesy.
