I agree, I think I will watch it purely for the fashion, but it was dumb. I hate her roomate, she is a waste of space. What a horrible friend, I thought that my friends were bad, but this girl takes the cake.

Also my friend has worked for the real Vogue and she says that although you do need to dress the part, no one would come up to you on your first day and re-dress you. That would immediately piss me off.

I also hate that they are making it look like LC will get married this season in the previews, that Jason gives her some jewelry in a box and the last scene of the preview shows her trying on a veil, I really hate how they spin the previews and then the actual show is let down.

it was sort of a let down. like chic, i will watch for the fashion and im curious to see how the internship goes. it seems very the devil wears prada.

I totally agree with everything Luv2Shop said. It seemed totally fake, and it's so stupid that LC would let her friends sit down at the party. Heidi drives me nuts.

I agree with Chic about the proposal/veil thing being stupid.

But I will give it another shot.

I guess I'm the only one, but I didn't think it was dumb. It is fake - and somewhat staged, just like Laguna was, so I was expecting that. I didn't really expect it to be "real"...I do agree that LC's roommate Heidi is a total idiot. Couldn't she have at least tried to lie when she was interviewing w/that lady at their school? What a dumbass! And I thought it was very shady of her to show up at that party and ask LC to let her in, when LC told her not to do that. But LC was acting dumb, sitting down, talking w/them.

I do think last night's episode was sorta boring, but it was only the first, and I think it will get a lot better once Jason's on the show, and they follow that drama.

I guess I'm not disappointed, because it is MTV and it was what I expected. Also, I just love LC. It wasn't as good as the first season of Laguna, but definitely better than last season - I thought the 2nd season of LB sucked for the most part.

I think it was as fake as any other reality show. I enjoyed it anyways though. To me LC seemed pretty mature for her age, she was trying to be responsible at the party, but her roommate and friends are just completely disrespectful of her wishes. I thought it was funny that the Teen Vogue stylist said the western look was over.

I am in the minority when I say I enjoyed it wholeheartedly. I love LC!!

The roommate is definitely an actress. I could tell that certain scenes were definitely scripted. Oh well. I don't care. I love Laguna and I love LC.

it will be another guilty pleasure. it's definitely beyond scripted- i mean she didn't know she'd get the teen vogue job? come on. my roommate and i were laughing. and who is this insane roommate supposed to be- someone she knew before? she's totally an actress, right?

Her roommate totally pissed me off. The whole fashion interview, at least she could have been somewhat intelligent and not act like a moron. Also is she from Laguna? I thought it was totally stupid how they came in and redressed them also. It just seemed weird. I also don't like how she totally just let her friends walk all over her. If it is scripted they should make LC have a little more backbone.

Actually, no - her roomate Heidi really was on Season 2 of Laguna Beach. I watched the reruns of it this past weekend and there she was. She was at that fashion show where Jason cheated on her w/Jessica and all that.

It wasn't any more or any less than I expected.

I was, however, completely annoyed with LC's friends. What a bunch of jerks! I'd slap my friends silly if they tried that crap with me. And Heidi is an idiot on wheels. Does she even have a solitary, functioning brain cell?

And the previews are ridiculous. That stupid jewelry box and then the veil thing. Good grief. She was probably in the Teen Vogue closet or something and trying on the veil for fun.

But, I'll still be watching. It's mindless summer television at its finest.

BUT...SO FAKE!! OMG! the roommate was such a (scripted) moron and the thing where her friends came to the party and sat on the couch.. you KNOW mtv asked them to do that. I feel like the "drama" that they created was so lame..."will LC get the job?" um, duh... "Oh no, her friends are sitting on the VIP couches!" OK, whatever..

And the magazine intern stuff.. "You need to look Teen Vogue.." The editor didn't even look teen vogue. And "if you let people sit on the couches, you're gone!" Um, okay... I think its funny the way they make the fashion industry look so cutthroat and glamourous on tv... its totally not like that.

Also, I don't like LC. I don't hate her..but i prefer bitchy kristin. I think she makes for better tv and even if she's totally annoying, i don't get the fake vibe from her the way i do from LC half the time. half the time i feel bad (the second half of the show i felt kinda bad) and like her, the other half the time i can't stop rolling my eyes at her.

Yeah, this first episode was boring and super-staged, but I know I am still going to watch it every week. Heidi is a total dumba$$. I thought it was funny how Lauren and the other intern spent all that time stuffing envelopes, but I hope they show a lot of her internship at Teen Vogue.

So I just happened to watch this show last night since there wasn't anything else on. I only watched one episode ever of Laguna Beach and thought it was so dumb and couldn't tell if it was a real reality show or a made up one. I will just say it's a real reality show.

Those girls are so dumb. That one girl would have never gotten that internship if it wasn't for the show. And the bossy Teen Vogue lady, is so not Vogue at all, her hair looks like shit! It was so flat and stringy.

About the party, OMG! I can't believe those Laguna kids think they are important enough to go to a party like that. It reminded me of the loser kids trying to get into the Super Sweet 16 parties. I just don't see how those two girls would risk their internships to let their friends in the party! What's worse is that one girl wasn't even friends with them and let them in! And that Laguna girl let her friends and herself sit in the VIP area after she was told to not let ANYBODY sit there and she herself was not to sit down at all!

At the school interview, that dumb girl is soooo dumb! Why would you say you aren't into studying or doing school work and just want to party?!!! Who goes to school to be a celebrity party planner, so lame. Grow up already!

i agree with most of what everone else said -- esp. that it was TOTALLY "the devil wears prada"!!!! there's no way that they weren't going for that, with the movie coming out this summer.

uggh, i wanted to kill heidi, and myself for watching, but i'll be there (or at least my tivo will) for every episode.

i think they're trying to make heidi the "kristin" type character and there's no way she can compete.

Also the editor from Teen Vogue is probably ONLY in her 40's and needs some serios wrinkle cream and or botox.

I'll be watching just because the fakeness just cracks me up. I didn't really get into Laguna Beach because of the fakeness, but at least with The Hills I recognize all the places and get a kick out of them. What I am most in love with is how they never show the street level of the establishing shot of the Teen Vogue offices. I *think* the Teen Vogue offices are actually in a somewhat unimpressive area of town and it's so funny how they're trying to hide it almost.

LC (along with Stephen) is repped by the agency I used to work at.
