they remind me of something i owned in high school maybe junior high. i'm intrigued mainly b/c the most comfortable heels i've ever owned had rubber bottoms, so i'm curious to see if how these would compare.
and i'm drawn to these, but i'm having a bit of a 90's moment of late and have been eyeing the most ridiculous things (like jumpers).

yeah, they have a very Angela from My-So-Called Life vibe to them. i'm on the fence about these pairs to be honest....

thick soles aren't my style so i won't be getting them but i do know quite a few people who could rock them, so i don't think "yuck" just very...specific about who could pull it off. oh one more thing--i feel like anything w/ thick soles has a very high likelihood of looking dated very quickly but again that's part of their charm to begin w/, no? that cheeky retro feel?
i'm with honey. all my comfiest shoes have been rubber and I do like the rubber soled shoes in a nostalgic, i wore those in late elementary/early middle school way.
actually now that i'm thinking about it, i'm in love with the idea of wearing them with chunky knit tights, my millions of skirts, a chunky sweater, and a newsboy, beret, or knit hat (but it won't ever be cold enough in LA). well, since the general consensus is nay, at least they'll go on sale faster and for cheaper!
I used to love heels like that on high school until I saw a girl on stage (I was a drama freak) wearing some and no matter how she walked or moved she just clumped, clumped, clumped and her skinny, tiny little legs looked huge attached to those shoes. That was the last time I ever went with a chunky sole and/or heels (boots are exceptions when large part of leg is covered).
So no, I won't be partaking. Not that I would MJs anyway but no knock-offs for me.
But agreed, the bottom pairs are awesome. Those I would gladly use someone else's money to buy.
