I Need Help With My Bedding....
Permalink Closed

i need help with bedding.  the headboard and walls won't be changing colors anytime soon.  i like the idea of the like blues (i have recently bought a lot of light blue sheets because they were on sale).  the brown pillow can go, the orange are already gone, and the duvet cover was a temporary fix for when guests came to visit.  our duvet is currently white, but it's just not practical.

  • so what color bedding should i do with the dark blue headboard and yellow walls?

  • should i do all blues?  and if i do, can you show me exactly what color blues for the sheets (preferably baby blue for the sheets), duvet, and accent pillows.

  • any other opinions?

here's a painting we have near our bed, but i'm scared to pull colors out of for fear that it will be too "primary"

(it doesn't appear large, but IRL it is)

thanks so much!!!  i love my place, but i continue to struggle with this decorating problem because of the headboard and the walls.

I love the idea of all blues! My sheets, pillow cases, duvet and duvet cover are all different shades of blue. I have aqua, royal blue(like the color of your headboard), teal, powdery-sky blue (like your pillows) and white w/ a blue and aqua pattern. They all compliment eachother so I mix and match everything. I find blue really soothing.

Thanks.  Can you post some pictures of bedding that you would use?  Like the different shades of blue.  I am having such a hard time executing the project.  I know I want blues (I'm still open to other suggestions), but I'm not sure which shades and where.

I like this Charter Club group.  It comes in many colors so you can mix and match.

Charter Club

I like this color of green too.

DKNY

This one picks up the colors in the picture without looking primary colored since there is no yellow in the bedding.

esquiress- i that second one.  the color is amazing, and i think i might even like that it's solid.  maybe i'll just do that instead of a mix of blues.

can you post the website?  my computer doesn't allow me to check it.  thanks!

I just want to add that I have that chocolate/blue quilted silk blanket and shams from Restoration Hardware that FashionPrincess posted in the 3rd...except mine is in the pink/choc option.  The quilt is really nice.  I used this set to makeover an all white bed.  Rather than buy a colored duvet cover, we put the silk blanket over a white duvet and replaced the white sheets with some coordinating pink ones.  You could do the same thing with your blue.
