I bought the Roomba Discovery and am tickled pink with its performance. All I had to do is push "Clean" on the Roomba and off it went cleaning my floors. When it's done it goes back to its charger base on its own and whistles this cute little victory tune. It's also a ton of fun to watch; don't ask why but I couldn't stop watching it clean when I was home, I'm sure I'll get over it though. It also gets under my furniture and behind my bed which are places I NEVER vaccuum because hell if I'm moving furniture! I am thrilled each time I empty the FULL canister that has my dog's hair and dust in it (instead of my floors!). It has gotten stuck when going over area rugs and I've helped free it, but I imagine it frees itself when I'm not at home because it always makes its way back to its base on its own. I am completely, utterly thrilled with this product as it does a great job of everyday cleaning. I'm sure it won't replace the vaccuum for monthly cleanings, at least that's what I read in reviews on the web, but who knows?
I also have the Scooba, but will refrain from reviewing that because my floors were really dirty when I used it (only used it once) and I think it's meant for every day cleaning, not the thorough, scrubbing kind (which I need to do this weekend). I did empty a full canister of brown water when I used it though, so that's all I need to see to know it's a keeper. I'll give a full review later.
i'll second how great the roomba is. I have one too and i love it. its a great conversation piece because everyone thinks its so strange. it is the cutest thing. my roomba is probably one of my new favorite things.
I ordered it off Amazon because they had a $25 coupon. I did a little web research prior to buying and found a forum for the Roomba (yep, guess there's a forum for everything, lol) and the general consensus there was that the current lowest price was at Amazon w/the coupon. You may want to check around for prices though because this was a couple of weeks ago.
