Paul and Joe for Target

Some UK site has confirmed that Paul and Joe will be the next designer for Target.

French fashion label Paul & Joe is creating an exclusive clothing collection for Target. The French designer brand is the third to have launched a line for the US retail giant.

Paul & Joe's creator, Sophie Albou, is designing a line of women's wear for fall/winter 2006/7 for Target. Albou just launched a fine jewellery line to celebrate the opening of her boutique on the prestigious Avenue Montaigne in Paris.

“Sophie Albou immediately understood what we wanted,” said Trish Adams, senior vice president of Target, in a press release. “Her collection is filled with original, elegant creations with a very girly touch.”

The collection will be launched in 1,148 Target stores form 1 August and will be available for 90 days.

The line will consist of blouses, tops, sweaters, pants, skirts, jeans and coats, with prices ranging between $7.99 and $149.

As cute as Luella and Tara was for Target, I'm hoping and anticipating they'll make something more feminine and simple . I'm just one of those gals who aren't into the bright colors.

Yes I heard about this and I am excited. I love their designs. Its pretty cool that Target has a new collection every 3 months. I wonder who else will be up for it. I have to admit so far that I haven't bought any Luella or Tara stuff. But I want to try on the color-block Tara dress

i wish i could be more excited. i love paul & joe but can't afford it. the thing is the target lines have been so disappointing. not the styles so much, but the quality has been really questionable. most of the luella stuff  i didn't like b/c it wasn't well made at all. but it was priced so much more than regular target lines like mossimo, which imho is pretty well made for the price.

I went with my sister and she also pointed out that $40 for jeans at Target is a bit much.  The quality of them were more like $20 denim.

I'd like to see what they do for Target.  I wan't too thrilled w/the Luella & Tara stuff, but P&J will be interesting to see.

EEEEEEEEK!  I love Paul & Joe.  There was a Paul & Joe store on my way to and from school in France, and I always drooled every time I walked in front of it.  This is so exciting!  Now if only Paul & Joe would open a store in the US...say, in Northern California, walking distance from my house?  That would be perfection.

I agree. I'm also not particularly fond of the way they are fitting. Both lines, imo, fit more like cheap juniors clothes than regular sizing. I went to Target on Monday, anticipating loving the Tara stuff and I ended up lusting after the new Mossimo things more.

I will try the color block dress though. If it's as cute as the picture, I'll get it even if the quality isn't that great.

^^

I went to Target too to check out the Tara stuff to see why everyone is getting the things they're getting there. I thought her stuff looked better in real stuff than the pictures on the website, but then I looked around more and actually would rather buy the Mossimo line than her line. The Tara line is just tooooo cute.

i saw this cami in the store, and it was way prettier in person.  and it feels like it is real silk.  this cardigan was a lot nicer in person as well.
