My brother is having a destination wedding in Vegas, and he told my sister that he wants cash as a gift to use towards the honeymoon. Also, since it's a destination wedding, he said he doesn't want to have to worry about how to get everything back home. They are not registered anywhere.
Cash seems so impersonal for my brother, we're pretty close, but, at the same time, if that's what would be the most useful, and would make him happy, then that's fine with me.
I'm wondering how much I should give him and if you girls could think of any creative ways to give him money towards the honeymoon, rather than a Visa gift card or cash. If it must be cash, I at least want to personalize it a bit.
How much would you have spent on him if you would have gone out to purchase a gift? I understand your apprehension to give cash...I hate doing that. For some reason if one were going to go out and spend $X amount on a gift...it seems like not enough in just cash.
I think you should base it on how much you would have spent anyway.
Second Question: Do they have a honeymoon picked out? If they know exactly where they are going and staying...you could call the place and set up a couples spa day or something for them when they get there.
