Chicago girls - shopping tips?
Permalink Closed

I'm hoping some of you Chicago girls can point me toward the best shopping sites. I'd like to visit some unique shops, as well as stores I don't have in my city, like H&M. Any reccs?

TIA!

Poptart - are you actually physically coming to Chicago and you're wondering where to shop?  I'm guessing so, but I got confused when you said shopping sites.  Let me know and I'm glad to help!

Oops! I do mean I am physically coming to Chicago. I was using sites like physical sites, not websites. Don't know why I used that word. Sorry!

Oh how fun -you'll love it here!

Here's what I recommend for shopping and I'm sure the other Chicago girls can back me up and add anything I forget.

I would hit the Halsted/Armitage area in Lincoln Park for the cool boutiques, etc.  It also has some chain stores like Banana, Ann Taylor, etc, but you'll find an Active Endeavors, Barney's Co-Op, Lori's Shoes (which I love) and several other small boutiques.

Then I would hit Southport - there's a strip of stores, including Krista K (which is great), RedHead Boutique, etc.  Those are great boutiques you won't find anywhere else.

Then you can hit Michigan Ave and State Street.  State Street has H&M, F21, Urban Outfitters, Marshall Fields, Carson's, etc, etc.  Michigan Ave has everything - Watertower mall has your major stores like Express, Gap, Banana, Sephora, VS, etc etc.

HTH!  and let me know if you have any more ?'s.

I'm not from Chicago, but I LOVE Lori's Shoes in Lincoln Park.  I go everytime I visit Chicago and I'm never disappointed!
