For Those who use Drugstore face wash

I was wondering if you could tell me what kind you use and if you like it? Also if you like the face wash you are using, what skin type do you have?

In the past two weeks my face totally broke out and I don't know if it is b/c i am stressed, weather change (all of sudden it is like 90 degress), or b/c I need to change my face was.

Thanks for the help

One of my friends used to work for a plastic surgeon, and the surgeon always recommended dove foaming cleanser for sensitive skin. It's supposedly really mild and helps clear up skin!

HTH!

I like the bar soap vs the liquids....it seems to leave my face less oily. I switch around somewhat but always use dove nutrium (the one with the pink and white stripes) in between. It works as a cleanser but has a moisture stip too so it doesn't over dry. I have combination skin. Neutrogena cleansers are supposed to be good too.

I have very oily acne prone skin. My derm has me using Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash and it seems to have cleared my skin up (used in conjunction w/ prescription grade bp cleanser and Tazorac). It's got 2% salicylic acid, which is pretty strong, so I wouldn't recommend it to you unless you were breaking out a lot and had really oily skin. If you want a milder cleanser I would also recommend Aveeno Clear Complexion foaming cleanser. It's very gentle because it's only got 0.5% salicylic acid. My only gripe with it is the pump on the bottle gets stuck sometimes. Other than that I liked it, it just wasn't strong enough for my acne.

I 2nd the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne wash - my derm has me use it too and it's worked wonders for me too.  Btw - jaymiek, I use Tazorac too!

My derm suggests Cetaphil but I also use Neautragena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser when I break out.

I'm on my 3rd bottle of the aveeno clear complexion foaming face wash, and i like it better than dove and cetaphil.  i have combination skin, and i just don't get a "clean" feeling after washing my face with the other two.  i'm generally a fan of all the aveeno products, including the clear complexion lotion.  it's really helped clear up my skin--i used to use retin-a micro, but with the aveeno products i no longer need prescription acne meds, and just have some occasional breakouts on my chin (which is more hormonal than bacterial).  hth!

I have combination skin as well and have been using Biore Foaming Ice Wash. I reallly like it a lot and haven't had any problems with breakouts really.

I use Cetaphil.  My skin has pretty much settled into combination status.  I don't have the breakout problems I used to, but I do consider myself acne-prone.  I usually use Cetaphil and then this Noxema Triple Clean face wash every other night...it has triclosan in it, which is an anti-bacterial ingredient.

When i went to the derm a long time ago, they told me to use Cetaphil, but it didn't do anything for my skin. Instead it felt like it was still dirty. I have combo skin, My cheeks are really dry and the only thing that is oily is my forehead. I am breaking out on my forehead, which i feel like i have permant little pimple there, plus i am breaking out not on my chin which has never happened before. I am using the oil a olay cleansing cloths. I have been using them for i think about 6 months but then last night after this post I realized that after I was my face my face feels tight. So it must be drying out my skin? I don't know. I would go to the derm. but everytime i go i feel like they don't help. Or they try pushing products on me which don't help. But thank you all for your suggestions, I guess now it is just expertimenting time.

I use Purpose bar soap, but have the liquid too for back up if I run out.  My skin type is very oily and acne-prone (adult acne on cheeks and jawline, big painful bumps); I haven't had a break out on my face in over a year.  I also use 2% Benzoil Peroxide and tee tree oil (one drop!) on a wet cotton ball for toner.

If I'm too lazy to take off my eye makeup (I always use waterproof because of my oily skin) the Purpose will take it off between the pm and am washing.

I have dry skin. I use Oil of Olay Foaming Face Wash for sensitive skin. I've used it for years and really like it. Plus, it's cheap, $2.97 at Walmart. I also like anything by Aveeno. I love the way it smells. Try Aveeno Clear Complexion Face Wash.
