What is one trend you originally thought you weren't going to follow, but then you changed your mind about?

My most recent one is wedge heels. I had a pair a few years ago and towards the end of that phase, I started thinking they looked really stupid. So, when people started wearing them a lot again, I thought, "no way." Then, I needed shoes in a hurry and the only ones I could find that fit the look I wanted were wedges. Now, I've bought 3 more pairs just for the spring/summer.

One from the past was ponchos. At first, when they were "in", I couldn't stand them, but I eventually jumped on board and loved them. Now, of course, I'm sick of them again.

1) skinny jeans: I thought I was loyal to bootcut and that skinny jeans made anyone look hippy, but now I love mine. I guess I got used to the silhouette, and there are so many variations that you can find one that is flattering.

2) flats: I wore heels everyday, and never thought I would give them up and diminish my tiny height, but they are so comfy and cute

  1.  Gauchos  I found me a pair and I love them. They are not the thin, stretchy  fabic its more like a trouser  fabric.

Not really trends, but:

I used to hate the colors brown and pink. Now I love wearing both colors.

I also used to wear silver jewelry exclusively. Now I like gold better.

capris! I thought they were so silly around 98. Same with flared jeans.

wedges. I always thought they were unflattering and clunky-looking.

cropped pants. I always thought they looked stupid on me.

I'm with rocky on the flats! In my old life people thought it was odd if I had on 2 inch heels because I looked shorter - I ALWAYS had on high heels. Now I live in ballet flats & flip flops.

I guess that goes in conjunction with comfy shoes - I used to have the attitude that I'd sacrifice comfort for cuteness - now I try to find both & will pass on completely uncomfortable shoes - I used to not care so much!

Definitely flats...I used to think I need the extra 2-3 inches heels provided.  I'm with Laken and Rocky -- flats are so much more comforable and look cute!

Same with Maat on the wedges, up until even a month ago I was like no way and since then I've bought 2 pairs.

The other was grecian sandals, then I bought a KORS pair and cannot wait to wear them. I'm sure there are more that I'll think of later.

It's really amazing how many new things I have tried and liked in the past year!

  • shorts

  • skinny jeans

  • bubble skirt (the last one I had was circa 1988 - by Laura Ashley and I wore it to my high school's xmas dance)

Black and brown together.  I always thought it was such a fashion don't but now it's one of my favorite combos.

Pointy-toed boots & shoes!

I have a friend living in Italy and she came to the states with these 2-3 years ago, while the US was in the midst of a chunky-shoe fad.
I couldn't believe how silly they looked, and now I can't live without my pointy boots!

Heels. I used to be a total sneaker-holic. If you would have told me 5 or ten years ago that I would love heels now, I would have told you you were off your rocker.
