Can I Get Some Honest Opinions??
Permalink Closed

Okay, I posted this in my TS post but wanted to post it here to get some opinions.  I bought these at the new Gap Outlet near me.  (They closed the Gap and reopened with an Outlet??) They were cheap so I bought them in 4 different colors.  I love how comfortable they are but wonder if they look right on me.  Can I get some opinions, please??

honestly, they look comfortable but they make you look a little bottom heavy. i would keep maybe 1 pair, but I don't think you need 4.

I agree with Choo - I have seen your figure look cuter in other outfits.

And, I have to add - I don't think it's you! I think gauchos are extremely tough to wear, in general.

I find that gauchos in light colors are hard to wear and ones in darker colors much easier.

I agree with the other girls, in that I've seen you look much more fabulous in other bottoms. That being said, I have a few pairs of knit gauchos and I know they're not the most flattering pants on me either but I wear them around the house and to walk the dog and I love them because they are so comfortable. So I don't necessarily think you need to return them, you just might want to rethink how (and where) you're going to wear them. One other thing, they might be a little more flattering if you tried a darker color. I have a pair in black and dark green and they seem to look less clingy than the lighter colors when I tried them on.

Thanks for the input ladies.  The others are a medium green, dark green and black and you are right - the darker ones are a lot easier to wear.  I sent one pair to a lady who does my alterations - she did these free of charge.  She took them in some in the leg (making them a little less wide).  I just got them back and am thinking they look a little better.  Here's a quick bathroom shot I took when trying them on.

I think the altered green ones look much better   I agree with the other girls that the darker ones are much easier to wear.  That being said I'm jealous you can wear them at all!  I try them on and just shake my head at myself

I agree...I don't think they are the most flattering pants...I think it's an unfortunate combination of color and material...I don't think there are many people who could really pull them off.  I'd probably return the lighter ones and keep the darker pairs.

I think the altered pair look good on you. They look much better than the lighter pair. Gouchos are so weird, aren't they? I only have one friend who looks fabulous in them and she's 6'1 and very muscular. Weird, right? But everytime I try on a pair, I look like a stuffed sausage, no matter what.

I'm one of the people who can't wear them. I tried a pair on at the Gap and I was like "Oh no. Not wearing those." I think they look really cute on the right body type.

I agree with the other girls- I think one pair in a darker color is enough. Gauchos are really difficult pants to pull off, and although they don't look horrible on you by any means, they don't do justice to your awesome figure!

I just tried those on today and i thought they were definetly too bottom heavy on me and too big.  I would say either get them all hemmed since it was a good deal (I never thought of that) or keep the color you love and return the rest.  Do you have a BR outlet also?  They had gauchos that fit better for about $10 more.

Thanks for being honest ladies!!  I do think it's a mixture of them being so wide and the lighter color.  Here's a pic of the green ones that I took when trying them on last night.    I like them a ton better after being altered.  They were really cheap - like $9.99 and I had an additional 20% off.  So,  after having them all altered I think I'll get my moneys worth out of them.

I could never wear gauchos myself but the altered ones look great on you! So cute!
