Have you guys seen this? Check out the differences in the photos. One was taken at night, one during the day- and the old man in the background is only in one of the photos-- are these continuity mistakes or something else? Seems unlikely that they'd be this sloppy...

I think the picture was taken at a different time. if you look at the back wall it looks differnet too- liek in the second one there's a door or something over to the left. My guess is that its a continuity error. Maybe the shot it later on so that the extras wouldn't be able to spoil it or something?

if it was another show, i would agree. but on this show, these little details are so important that i find it hard to believe they would be this sloppy! they know the fans are out there analyzing every little detail & freeze frame.

I dunno. Hurley also seems to be sitting completely differently. (leaned over vs upright). The only thing that makes me think there might be more to it is that it wouldn't have been hard to just  photoshop Dave out. Why take a whole second pic? They've messed up before though (last season the lotto ticket hurley won with kept changing design)

Weird.  It could be a total mistake.  They've made mistakes in the past.  I remember one thread on the Lost board (yeah, I'm a dork like that) they were talking about a calendar in the background at the recruiting office Kate's dad works at and they were trying to figure out the year that it took place based on the calendar.  Turned out that they used a current calendar in the show and it wasn't meant to be any sort of clue at all.  But it's hard to decipher what's meant to be a clue and what isn't.  But they're not perfect and this could just be a mistake.
