WHOOPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anthro comes to my state
Permalink Closed

I live in Alabama and I noticed that the past two orders I have placed with anthropologie has had sales tax added.  I was about to email anthro and inform them that my state did not have an anthro and I wanted my sales tax back.  I paused and decided I would just check to see if we had gotten one (I just knew they had made a mistake). Lo and behold, we have one in Birmingham (about 3 hours away-which is probably a very good thing).

I am beyond excited.   I just had to share.

I'm from Birmingham, but I go to college in Philadelphia. The store opened in August and it is so nice. It is pale blue and white. I think it was designed so that it looks like a beach house (like something you would see in coastal Massachusetts). I'm not trying to tempt you to make that 3 hour drive, but it is a beautiful store!

I am off for a week in May and I may take a road trip to it.  Thanks for telling me more about it.  I did not realize it had been open that long.  Is it a large store?  Do they have a nice selection of stuff?

I've only been a few times, since I haven't been home since school started in September. My mother and sister go all the time and I imagine the selection is pretty good. For instance, some earrings that I wanted were sold out in Philadelphia. My mother went into the store at home about 3.5 weeks later and they had lots of them. Plus, they are always talking about the sales.

I can't comment on store size, because the only other stores I have visited are the flagship store in Philadelphia and the ones in Manhattan. I'm assuming those stores are larger and would have a better selection than the average Anthropologie. It is one level, unlike those stores. However, it doesn't feel cramped or crowded. When we went the day it opened, I had a list of all the items that I liked from the website; I'm pretty sure they had all of them in store.
