Express editors...arrrrrrrghhh!!!

I have always had a problem finding pants to fit.  If they fit in the hips they are too big in the waist.  Well, last year I tried on Editors and they fit so well.  I bought three pairs (seersucker, tan polyester/spandex, and chocolate brown in a sateen sort of fabric).  I was sooooo happy I had finally found some flattering pants that fit. Well, I saw the pretty white ones they have now in the last Shop Etc. magazine in the article where they compared several pairs of white pants.  I walked into Express and took them in the dressing room expecting them to fit.  Well, I had the same old problem again--too big in waist but fits in hips.  Now my other Express pants still fit the way they did when I bought them.  What is the deal? I am so frustrated.

I noticed a fit change, too. I don't have the gapping problem (no waist) but the pair I bought recently seems pretty different. The legs seem slimmer and they have a smaller leg opening, too. I liked the old fit better, but they still fit me better than most others.

I never bought them (I thought the price was too high) but if you like the old fit definetly check your marshalls and tj maxx.  I'd bet you could find the older pairs there that fit you the way you like.

I actually noticed the same thing, but only on certain colors or styles.  I recently tried on a bunch of different colors - some fit the way you are describing and others fit the way they always do - I hate when stores do this.  I always used to buy Express jeans too - they used to fit perfect and now they fit so strange on me - fit in waist, but gaping in the butt and thighs.  I love the Editors so I hope this isn't the case w/all the Editors

I had a similar experience last weekend and I too, have trouble with the gaping waist.  I ended up at the Gap and found some really cute cropped pants.  They had some new stuff & they fit pretty darn good.
