Just coming back to stylethread after another long absence, so I thought I'd drop by and say howdy, and reintroduce myself since there are so many new people posting since I "left" a few months ago. I've been living in Thailand for about a month now and am enjoying myself. It's quite an adjustment but I like it. The shopping is great here, esp. for housewares, jewelry, and art, but the clothing/shoe options aren't great. There are tons of big malls, but the clothes are not to my taste and stuff runs very small. There are a TON of really high end stores here, it's incredible - Gucci, Chanel, LV, D&G, Tod's, Prada, etc - but of course I can't afford much of that. I may reward myself with an LV bag down the road. I'm looking forward to getting clothes made, as apparently it's inexpensive and good quality workmanship. So I'm doing a lot of online shopping in the meantime.
Anyway, I expect my posts will all be at odd hours since I'm on the other side of the world, so I'll be a bit late on responses, but it's nice to be "back" again.
welcome back! How funny- I was just thinking about you the other day and was wondering if you were over there yet. glad to hear that you're enjoying it!
welcome back - and Thailand sounds like so much fun! Enjoy! I was just reading in, I think Vogue, the other day, about a woman who had all of her clothes made while she lived in bangok... it sounded pretty great...
Hey DCS--We've missed you! Glad to hear your okay and that you're enjoying Thailand. Let me know how it works out with having clothes made over there. My hubby and I will be moving to Cairo in a few months and I plan to do the same thing (I've already been researching my shopping options while there and the seamstress idea is what intrigues me the most). How long will you be there?
Welcome back! I'm glad you are enjoying yourself and it's nice to hear from you. Can't wait to eventually (hopefully) see the things you have custom made!

it's great to get an update. i hate when people disappear and don't give updates.
