veggie to go with this dish?
Permalink Closed

i'm making a chicken dish for dinner and i need a vegetable to go with...

it's maple-roasted chicken with sweet potatoes (there's also onion, olive oil, and thyme in there, to give you an idea of the flavors).  i was thinking spinach w/ butter and nutmeg?  or i found a recipe for brussel sprouts with bacon and apples, which seems a little autumn-ish, but could work...

any other ideas?  i'm having trouble deciding what will go with maple syrup flavors!

hmmm, that sounds really good!

I think something green. maybe green beans with almonds? the brussel sprouts sound good but really heavy with everything else.

i guess it depends on how maple-y it is.

all i can think of is asparagus. (but i hate brussel sprouts, so that is clouding my vision)

What about asparagus boiled in 2 inches of water until they turn bright green, then transferred to a hot skillet and sprinkled with olive oil, S&P and lemon juice.  Total cook time 5-10 minutes!
